Take some time to relax and prepare for your full day tour tomorrow. day 3 (SUN) - b Beijing, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City Begin your day with your daily hotel buffet breakfast, featuring a large selection of Asian and Western cuisine. Your first day in Beijing may be spent at leisure or you may choose to join a tour of the famous Tiananmen Square, one of the largest and grandest public plazas in the world. This vast space is home to The Great Hall of People, the National People’s Congress, History Museum, Military Museum and MOnuments to the People’s Heroes. Enter the imposing walls of the Forbidden City, once the exclusive domain of the Ming Dynasty, for an extensive tour through this vast complex. Experience a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony while sampling China’s locally-favoured brews at a Tea House. day 4 (MON) - b/l Beijing, the Great Wall, 2008 Olympic Games Sites After breakfast, you will visit the largest Jade factory in Beijing, where you will learn about China’s most precious and celebrated stone. Afterwards, you will travel into the rugged mountain landscapes north of the city to the magnificent Great Wall of China. Once on top of this ancient defensive structure, you’ll find that some sections may be quite steep, but the views are magnificent and the experience is truly unforgettable. In the afternoon you will visit the 2008 Olympic Games sites including the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube. The Olympic Stadium was designed in Switzerland and is currently the largest steel structure in the world. In the evening you will enjoy a scheduled evening performance at the Kung Fu Legend show at a small additional cost. day 5 (TUE) - b Beijing, Temple of Heaven, Hutong In the morning you will practice Tai Chi in the Temple of Heaven. Tai Chi is an internal martial art system which places emphasis on the development and control of Chi (consciousness) energy within the body. Afterwards, visit the Silk Factory Outlet to learn about silk, the very trade item which started the famous Silk Road, and its delicate manufacturing process. Afterwards, you have the option to join the Hutong Tour and explore the Hutong neighbourhood, one of Beijing’s rapidly disappearing traditional districts, on a rickshaw. Visit a local family for lunch and go shopping in the Beijing Wangfujing Walking District and Beijing Flea Market (Knock-Off Market). day 6 (WED) - b/l Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing Walking District, Shanghai Museum Today, you will be transferred to Shanghai by bullet train. Upon arrival you will be met by your tour guide and begin a tour of the city. Visit the Shanghai Nanjing walking district and the Shanghai Museum to learn more about Shanghai’s local culture and history. In the evening you will enjoy a Huangpu River Cruise at a small additional cost. A cruise along the Huangpu River gives visitors an opportunity to see many of Shanghai’s famous sites such as the People’s Hero Monument, the Bund, the bustling International Passenger Station of Shanghai Harbour, the docks, the ancient gun fort relics and the dramatic skyline of the Pudong business district. day 7 (THU) - b Shanghai, Ancient Water Town Today you will have the option to explore the city of Shanghai at leisure or you may choose to join an optional tour to an ancient water town. The town, known as “the Venice of Shanghai”, is a well‐preserved ancient water town in modern Shanghai. With a history of over 1700 years, it depicts a typical country environment of southeast China. day 8 (FRI) - b Depart Shanghai Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home or you may choose to extend your stay and continue to explore the mesmerising cities of China. Beijing - Legend of Kung Fu Enjoy a thrilling evening of entertainment at the Legend of Kung Fu Show. The performance follows the journey of a young monk found wandering outside an ancient temple who, like most boys his age, dreams of becoming a legendary Kung Fu master. On the road to enlightenment the young monk is faced with many hardships and temptations. The story is told through Kung Fu, dance and acrobatic stunts, and is a fusions of modern dance and Chinese traditional arts.

Shanghai - Huangpu River Cruise The incredible Huangpu River serves as Shanghai’s shipping artery both to the East China Sea and to the mouth of the Yangtze River. A spectacular cruise along the Huangpu River gives visitors the opportunity to admire many of Shanghai’s beautiful skyline and famous sites including; the People’s Hero Monument, the Bund, the Oriental Pearl Tower, the bustling International Passenger Station of Shanghai Harbour, the docks and the Wu Song ancient gun fort relics.

This vast complex is home to The Great Hall of People, the National People’s Congress, History Museum, Military Museum and Monuments to the People’s Heroes. After exploring Tiananmen Square you will continue on to the Forbidden City – an imperial palace consisting of 980 buildings. The structure is the largest and best preserved ancient imperial palace in the world, with a history of over 500 years. After discovering the imperial treasures of Beijing, you will enjoy a sumptuous dinner of Beijing’s famous roast duck.

Beijing - Hutong Rickshaw tour with lunch with a local family and shopping trip to Wangfujing walking district & Flea Market - $80/personAmongst the giant mega towers of Beijing, lies a small piece of authentic Beijing. Here, in the Hutong neighbourhood, you will find traditional courtyard style houses that date back hundreds of years. You will travel back in time to explore the hutong area on rickshaws, before enjoying lunch with a local family. Afterwards you will continue on to the famous Wangfujing walking district and explore the flea market, where incredible bargains can be found.

Shanghai - Ancient water town with lunch tour - $80/personTravel to an ancient water town nestled within the ultra-modern city of Shanghai. Here, you will step back in time as you explore the town with a history of over 1,700 years. You will discover its historic bridges, bubbling streams, rivers, willow trees and traditional courtyards and houses. After exploring the city you will enjoy a delicious lunch before continuing your tour.
