Fara Esquire Cement Products is actually ajoint venture between a local company andforeign interests and has been in themaking since 2007 when Mr. Raj Sibu,Managing Director of Esquire BuildingsMaterial put together a business plan tomake this factory a reality. “Followingintensive research throughout the marketduring the last quarter of 2007, our organi-zation took a decision to sign a contractwith Nordimpianti System and Mar can -tonini as our partners for this new set-up,”Mr Sibu affirmed. Two years on, the factorytoday is producing hollow core elementswith 3 beds of 150m in length with a planfor further expansion in the near future.

The Market

Setting up such a facility in Ras al-Khaimahperfectly reflects this emirate’s ongoing con-tribution to the building and constructionindustry. Ras al-Khaimah rightly boasts ofbeing the UAE’s largest producer of cementand one of the world’s largest ceramics pro-ducer. It was also the first to launch a phar-maceuticals company in the Gulf region. Allthis hints at a business acumen fired by anunderstated yet robust economic drive thatis weathering the current downturn in theglobal economy with undimmed vigour.

Today, Fara Esquire Cement Products is in aposition to produce hollow core slabs vary-ing from 150mm to 525mm in height withshear compaction through Nordimpianti’sextruder technology. Indeed, the advan-tages of Nordimpianti’s technical solutionsand expertise proved a decisive factor inthe purchase of the Italian equipment. Mr.Sibu confirmed that he was especiallyimpressed with the versatility and economicviability of Nordimpianti System’s machineswhich “offer an attractive financial deal wit-

hout compromising on quality.” He cited thecontinuous lubrication of the double and tri-ple chains as well as of the main shaft

through constant immersion in oil as a pri-mary advantage that keeps maintenancecosts low.

Esquire Buildings Material LLC was from the very outset intent on being a One-Stop-Shop for all building materials – a target it has sur-

passed since today not only does the company supply to wholesalers in the UAE, but also re-exports to over 40 countries. Through the

RAK-based Fara Esquire Cement Products LLC, Esquire Buildings Material LLC has now expanded its operations through its recently set-up

hollow core and precast line with a turnkey factory from Italy. The Made-in-Italy label this time combines Nordimpianti System Srl and

Marcantonini Srl, who were the chosen partners for this project.

Nordimpianti Extruder

In addition, the Nordimpianti Extruder comes with a group ofmotorized wheels which features:

a) calibration of the height of the machine;b) ability to increase the height of the panel to have a maximum

of +/-2cm topping at the bottom that could be a feature forfire rating;

c) the Extruder can move up and down on the beds with a functi-on of the control panel.

The choice of Nordimpianti System’s high-precision 500AM sawwas another appealing feature which clinched the deal. This sawcomes with a main ABB motor and is equipped with timing beltsgiving a longer life span to the parts and minimizing spares. Nord -impianti System saw also prevents skidding as in the case of V-belts.

The equally internationally renowned Marcantonini technologycame to the fore in the final decision to invest in an automatic hori-zontal batching plant to complete the turnkey facility. Backed byover twenty-five years of experience and ongoing R&D,Marcantonini’s Betonmatic range provides a fully-customised bat-ching plant on account of its modular components specially desi-gned for the precast industry. As a result, production programmesare tailor-made and further supported by a computerized tele-ass-stance and tele-maintenance. Mr Sibu confirmed that “Sturdiness,versatility, accuracy, reliability, simple application, safety, ample sto-rage capacity and long life-span” were all key plus points that ledto partnering up with Marcantonini. “We are very satisfied with thehigh standard of the homogenous concrete mix (both wet and dry)as well as with the ease with which we can change the aggregatemix and correct the water content in the admixture,” Mr Sibuadded.

Significantly, Marcantonini’s pan-type mixers are suitable for thehomogeneous treatment of a large range of minerals, such as forthe production of concrete of all qualities and of lightweight con-crete with expanded clay, pumice, polystyrene, ceramics or similarmaterials. For mixing of hot concrete, Marcantonini mixers can beequipped with circular slabs, precast elements, prestressing equip-ment, batching plants and oncrete distribution. Once again, Mr

Sibu noted that the high yield owing to thebrief mixing time and the prevention of resi-due spill during the discharge process fullydemonstrates an award-winning technologi-cal innovation.

The collaboration between Fara EsquireCement Products, Nordimpianti System andMarcantonini was coordinated by Philip ATabone International throughout the instal-lation and commissioning phases. Whilequality and price proved fundamental,being sensitive to investor’s needs clearlymade this venture in Ras al- Khaimah gofrom the drawing board to full productionswing.
