Activities to develop Building learning:
- Students listen and practice saying the words in groups.- They look at the typical spellings for these sounds.
Pronunciation Notes Practically all words that begin with h are pronounced /h/. There are
very few exceptions: hour and honest. The only other consonant combination that is pronounced /h/ is wh, and again there are: know who, whose, and whole.
W (+ vowel) at the beginning of a word is always pronounced /w/ except for the exceptions above. Wr is pronounced /r/
Application: Students listen to the whole track once and next they listen and write the questions.
