In the last several years she has captured a 2011 Grammy Award for Best New Artist (the rst jazz artist to do so) edging out Justin Bieber, Drake and others; played with Prince, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder; and jammed with jazz heroes Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny. A young trailblazing musician who has irted with Afro-Cuban rhythms, Brazilian bossa and string-laden chamber jazz, her latest project the 12-piece Radio Music Society blends jazz (Wayne Shorter’s ‘Endangered Species’ with her original lyrics), funk and soul (Stevie Wonder’s ‘I Can’t Help It’) into an exhilarating ride for the listener. “She’s incredible.
