ESPA Certification is a widely recognized industry “stamp of approval” that signifies that an Electronic Systems Technician (EST) has been properly trained to be effective on the job from day one, then continue to learn and advance in the industry. The credential is a high-stakes professional industry certification, built according to the highest standards and administered only in a timed, proctored, environment. The ESPA Curriculum Due to the growing need for qualified entry level ESTs, ESPA collaborated with industry experts & educators to develop a universal curriculum that covers five key domains: • Electrical Basics • Tools • Construction Methods and Materials • Wiring and Installation Practices • Standards, Codes and Safety Practices Students of the program must pass the proctored exam in order to earn the ESPA Certified-EST credential. What’s the Path to Certification? Self-study: There are several ways to prepare for the certification exam. If there are no schools in your area which offer the ESPA program, you can prepare by studying the ESPA book and taking the online Ecourse. Fast-Track: Several short-term programs are being developed and will be launching in the near future. These will combine the Ecourse and book with instructor-led instruction, hands-on activities, review, and testing. Career Centers and Tech Schools: The preferred training option is at a career center or post-secondary technical school. These programs include the most comprehensive curriculum and extensive hands-on training.
