Product Description
The Reliable Model H Early Suppression FastResponse (ESFR)
Sprinkler is intended for use againstsevere fire challenges. This
sprinkler is designed torespond quickly to growing fires and will
deliver aheavy water discharge to “suppress” rather than“control”
fires.
The ModelH Sprinkler utilizes a 2.5 mm glass bulb ineither the
155°F (68C), 200°F (93C), or 286°F(141C) ratings. The sprinkler has
a Nominal K Factor
of 14.0 (metric 200) and will deliver approximately 100gpm (397
L/min) of water at 50 psi (3,4 bar).
The deflector and frame provide a broad, verysymmetrical,
hemispherical pattern capable ofsuppressing fires between
sprinklers in high storageheight areas and at the same time
retaining a highmomentum central core to penetrate and
suppressfires occurring directly beneath the sprinkler in
lowstorage height areas.

Approvals
The Model H ESFR Sprinkler is FM approved [155°F(68C) and 200°F
(93C) temperature ratings only] fouse in buildings to 45 ft.
(13.7m) high with storageheights to 40 ft. (12.1m) when installed
in accordancewith Factory Mutual Loss Prevention Data Sheet 2-2
oother FM Installation Standards.
The Model H ESFR Sprinkler is UL and ULC Listed(all ratings) for
installation in accordance with NFPAStandards for storage heights
to 35 ft. (10.7m) inbuildings to 40 ft. (12.1m). high.
The Model H ESFR Sprinkler [155°F (68C) and200°F (93C) ratings
only] is also approved by both theVerband der Schadenversicherer
e.V. (VdS Germanyand the Loss Prevention Council (LPC, UK).
VdSGermany requires review prior to each installation.

Application and Installation
The Model H ESFR sprinkler is intended forinstallation in
accordance with NFPA 13, NFPA 231,NFPA 231C and FM Loss Prevention
Data Sheet 2-2 aswell as the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
This sprinkler is intended for protection of palletizedand solid
piled and open frame single row, doublerow, multiple row and
portable rack storage of mostcommon materials including unexpanded
andcartoned expanded plastics.
The 286°F (141C) temperature rated Model HSprinkler is intended
for installation in the proximity oflocalized heat sources.

MaintenanceThe Model H ESFR Sprinkler should be inspected
quarterly and the sprinkler system maintained in
accordance with NFPA 25. Do not clean sprinkler withsoap and
water, ammonia or any other cleaning fluid.Remove any sprinkler
that has been painted (otherthan factory applied) or damaged in any
way. A stockof spare sprinklers should be maintained to allow
quickreplacement of damaged or operated sprinklers. Priorto
installation, sprinklers should be maintained in theoriginal
cartons and packaging until used to minimizethe potential for
damage to sprinklers that would causeimproper operation or
non-operation.
Once operated, automatic sprinklers cannot bereassembled and
reused. New sprinklers of the samesize, type and temperature rating
must be installed. Acabinet of replacement sprinklers should be
providedfor this purpose.
Model H Sprinkler Wrench
Use only the Model Hsprinkler wrench for re-moval and
installation. Anyother type of wrench maydamage the sprinkler.
