October 12, 2019 • Corpus Christi, TX • Engaged 1 year 6 monthsPhotos by Natalie Nicole Photography

How we met: We met in a speech class in college at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi back in Spring 2012 and started dating in the Fall of 2012

The proposal: We were on vacation, just us two, in Colorado in March 2018. It was one night after having dinner in Downtown Denver and we were walking back to our hotel. He stopped me on our walk, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him!

Favorite detail: Bride: I think the little pops of marble was pretty unique and it was by far one of my favorite details of our wedding. Groom: My wife made sure to include my late father on our wedding day. She put together a memory table of my father and her great grandfather and it meant a lot to me. The table had photos and candles lit.

Favorite moment: Bride: My favorite moment was finally meeting my groom at the altar. It was a pretty stressful morning unfortunately and we were rushing to get to the church at the end and the limo that was supposed to pick me up never showed (well, ended up showing up late) so we were almost late to the ceremony! Everything after that went smooth though! The one hiccup of the day. Everything was perfect when I saw Ryan at the altar waiting for me to walk down the aisle to him. Groom: Seeing my bride finally walk down the aisle to me and spending the day and night with our closest friends and family.

Biggest challenge: Bride: Wedding Planning is stressful. I pretty much did it all myself and it was amazing to see it all come together in the end. I remember thinking a year and a half would take forever to get here but it seriously

flew by. Try to enjoy the process as much as you can. Groom: Coordinating everything on the day of.

If you could do one thing over: Bride: I wish the morning would have gone a tad bit smoother. I imagined myself being calm on the morning of my wedding but it was far from that! Groom: Not have way too much to drink at our rehearsal dinner the night before - both of us!

One piece of advice: Bride: It goes by so fast! I know everyone tells you that but it's because it's true! It's all over so quickly so really enjoy every second and soak up every single moment. Dance all night long! I literally never stepped foot off the dance floor (well maybe a couple of times) but seriously I was dripping sweat at the end of the night and I wouldn't change a thing. It was the best night of my life and I had so much fun and being together with all of the people I love the most under one roof was amazing. Groom: Don't stress about things that don’t matter. Ultimately the day is about the two of you becoming one and starting your new life together.

Why you got married: Bride: I found my forever home. Ryan is my home and has been for many years now. Marriage means loving each other unconditionally and supporting each other's every dream and aspiration. Understanding that we are here for the long haul, in good times and in bad times. Groom: I knew I wanted to marry Meagan early on in our relationship and those feelings only grew stronger the longer we were together. I'm excited to take on the role of her husband and be her protector.

How to make your spouse happy: Bride: Be supportive. Do the little things. Go on dates whether it's to the gym, the movies, or dinner or just sitting on the couch watching a show or in our case, ESPN, together. Groom: Listen and be present.
