About MeCurrently living and working in the city of Chicago, Erum hopes to inspire other young fashion forward Mid-Westerners. A graduate of IADT Chicago, Erum is passionate about social media, event coordination, and of course, fashion. Erum considers herself lucky that her industry allows the combination of all three subjects. In her free time she can be seen volunteering at local fashion shows and events around the city.

A fantasy adventure came to life in late summer of 2013. Trends and styles had been moving more slowly since the depleting economy in the early 2000’s. I knew that specific trends would stay somewhat similar to those of 2013 but certain embellishments and detailing would change; like hemlines on dresses, and silhouettes of shoes. With the increase of technology in everyday life there has been a desire, at least in my generation, for a sense of nostalgia. Vintage styles and thrifting have gone from frowned upon to the forefront of style. Cue in the eccentric era of the late 70’s to the early 80’s. Rock n Roll, androgyny, and experimentation were all the rage. This specific era is modern enough for our tech savvy world, but still allows a fulfillment of nostalgia. Channeling inspiration from classic cult films of the time, I was able to create a fantasy adventure. The trends focus on girly, feminine, and androgynous looks; showing that fashion has reached the masses and can appeal to any style. On the same note having so many options truly makes finding an individual sense of style a journey. A fantasy adventure shows the consumer that the journey of fashion can be embarked upon with sense of wonderment and adventure.

Inspiration

Inspired by tales of adventure, fantasy, mystery, romance, and wonderment. Our favorite cult classic films come alive when fashion meets fantasy adventure. The Labyrinth, The NeverEnding Story, and The Princess Bride evoked our sense of longing to discover the world of the unknown. Follow the journey into A/W 2015 and be prepared for; an adventure, a fairy tale’s ethereal charm, the eccentricity of David Bowie, and a splash of 80’s glamour, creating a fantasy world rivaling those of our youth.
