I. God has a DREAM (destiny, purpose) for every person that will ever live.

Genesis 37:3-11 3 Now Israel loved Jo-seph more than all his chil-dren, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors. 4 But when his brothers saw that their fa-ther loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peace-ably to him. 5 Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. 6 So he said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: 7 There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.” 8 And his broth-

ers said to him, “Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have do-minion over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. 9 Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed an-other dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.” 10 So he told it to his father and his broth-ers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers in-deed come to bow down to the earth before you?” 11 And his brothers envied him, but his father kept the matter in mind.

Acts 2:17-19 17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. 18 And on My menser-vants and on My maidser-vants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.

You know your heart is healthy when it starts to dream again.

Anything that’s important enough for you to do, God will tell you to do it more than once - Law of

Confirmation.

Visions, dreams, and prophecy are the language of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit’s purpose is to reveal God’s will and purpose to His people.

II. People that do not have a dream will always wage war against those who do.

Genesis 37:23-25 23 So it came to pass, when Joseph had come to his brothers, that they stripped Joseph of his tu-nic, the tunic of many colors that was on him. 24 Then they took him and cast him into a pit. And the pit was empty; there was no water in it. 25 And they sat down to eat a meal. Then they lifted their eyes and looked, and there was a company of Ishmaelites, coming from Gilead with their camels, bearing spices, balm, and myrrh, on their way to carry them down to Egypt.

III. The dream you have for tomorrow determines the decisions you’ll make today.

Genesis 39:1-6, 12-13, 19-23 1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pha-raoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. 2 The Lord was with Jo-seph, and he was a suc-cessful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. 3 And his mas-ter saw that the Lord was

with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. 4 So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority. 5 So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Jo-seph’s sake; and the bless-ing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field. 6 Thus he left all that he had in Jo-seph’s hand, and he did not know what he had ex-cept for the bread which he ate. Now Joseph was hand-some in form and appear-ance. 12 that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his gar-ment in her hand, and fled and ran outside. 13 And so it was, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and fled outside, 19 So it was, when his master heard the words which his wife spoke to him, saying, “Your servant did to me after this manner,” that his anger was aroused. 20 Then Joseph’s master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were con-fined. And he was there in the prison. 21 But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. 22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Jo-seph’s hand all the prison-ers who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing. 23 The

keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper.

IV. God uses our JOURNEY to PREPARE us for our DESTINATION.

Psalms 105:17-22 17 He sent a man before them— Joseph—who was sold as a slave. 18 They hurt his feet with fetters, He was laid in irons. 19 Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord tested him. 20 The king sent and released him, The ruler of the people let him go free. 21 He made him lord of his house, And ruler of all his possessions, 22 To bind his princes at his pleasure, And teach his elders wisdom.

Romans 8:28-30 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predes-tined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He pre-destined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Genesis 50:20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people

alive.

Meant (chashab): purpose, imagine, think, to plait or weave, to interpenetrate, entangle

Romans 5:3-5 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, charac-ter; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disap-point, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Your dream is stronger than your enemy!

Your dream has the POWER to change you!Every season and stage of life that you prosper in, loses its grip to hold you there.

God uses difficult places and people to develop and deepen our character.

We prolong seasons of preparation in our lives when we are blinded or resistant to their God-given purpose.

PRESSURE REVEALS.

God’s will for our lives is that we become more like Jesus and He’ll use anyone or anything available to Him to accomplish that goal.

It’s one thing to have a dream, it’s another difficult thing altogether for a dream to have you.

Dream (chalam): “prophet-ic dream, to be healthy, to be strong, restore to health, to bind firmly, to be plump.

The Law of Confirmation - Anything that’s important enough for you to do, God will tell you to do it more than once.

What does success mean?

Success/prosper: (tsalach): to advance, make prog-ress, be profitable, to push forward, to break out

Success is having a GOOD ATTITUDE in a BAD situation.

Success is giving your best even when you feel your worst.

Success is not losing sight of your DREAM when you’re in the IN BETWEEN.

Success is not letting the disappointment of your past poison the opportunities of the present.

Success is using your GIFTS to help someone else fulfill their DESTINY while you’re still waiting for God to fulfill YOURS.

Success is maximizing your potential.

Success is finding and fulfilling your destiny.

Success is caring about other people while you’re hurting.

Success is having the FEAR OF GOD, not the fear of

man.

Success is leaving in victory!

Success is recognizing it’s not all about you!

Success is refusing to let unforgiveness lock you in a prison of bitterness.

Success is not giving up on people.

Success is letting God develop your Christlike character.

Success is not wasting seasons of our lives.

Success is ruling over our negative emotions.

Success is overcoming our sexual temptations.
