1st Trimester Ends November 6, 2015: On-line sign up for parent-teacher conferences will close on
Friday, November 6th at 9:00 am. After November 6th, parents will need to call the office (630-529-2223)
to schedule a conference. Report Cards will be sent home with students on November 20, 2015. Parent-
Teacher Conferences will take place on Monday, November 23rd & Tuesday, November 24th from 1:00
pm – 8:00 pm.
4th Grade Service Project: Fourth grade students will be able to volunteer at the PACT Humane Society
on Monday, November 9, 2015, from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Students will have the opportunity to prepare
adoption material, assist with cleaning, organize office space, and fold brochures & advertisement.
These are all vital daily responsibilities to ensure the shelter runs smoothly and is able to properly
provide & care for animals.
Veterans Day: On Wednesday, November 11, 2015, students will be honoring those who have served in
the Armed Services by participating in classroom activities devoted to Veterans Day. There will be a
Veterans Day Assembly at the end of the day where students will sing patriotic songs and share
information learned during classroom activities.

Junior Achievement Day Once again this year all students will have an opportunity to participate in Junior Achievement Day. Trained business staff will work with each classroom sharing relevant and curricular related information from the business world. This program has been offered to Erickson students for several years and the Erickson staff and students appreciate this special learning opportunity. Teachers remain in the classroom with the assigned business trainer during these half day sessions. your child’s class during the school day. We have set aside Thursday, November
19th to visit classrooms from 9:30-10:15 a.m. or 1:15-2:00 p.m.
To preserve the learning environment, please refrain from bringing younger siblings or using cell phones. Video recording and picture taking are not allowed.

Donations for the Carr Family
Michael Carr is a 1st grade student at Erickson Elementary School. Michael was recently diagnosed with Medulloblastoma.
Michael successfully underwent surgery this past Friday and is in good spirits. He will be out of school for the next couple weeks.
We ask that you keep the Carr Familyin your thoughts and prayers.
Erickson Elementary will be accepting donations in the form of money or gift cards for the Carr Family. Feel free to send any
donations with your child to school in an envelope labeled Carr Family. Checks payable to the Carr Family.

Thanksgiving Feast November 16th
Dear Parents,
The Erickson PTO Thanksgiving Feast is scheduled for Monday, November 16th. The
involvement of the students, teachers, administrators, local businesses and parents all play an
important role in making this event a success.
We are asking for your support to keep our Thanksgiving Feast a success. Please let us know if
you would be willing to make a donation for this festivity to help cover the cost of food for your
child/children by filling out the form below and returning it to school.
If you are aware of any local businesses that may be interested in making a donation, please

THANKSGIVING FEAST 2015
Erickson students will once again collect ‘’new and gently used” books for
their fellow students at Indian Reservation schools. The book drive will
begin on Monday November 2nd and run through November 16th,
Thanksgiving Feast Day! We will be collecting reading material for pre-K
through 8th grade. Please make sure that donated books are in good
condition and child appropriate. In past years, our students have collected
and distributed thousands of books to Indian Reservation schools
throughout the country.

enthusiastic response to this project!!
