ERG UNIVERSAL FLUSHING AGENTPROCEDURES

• ERG UFA is a high quality flushing ‘fluid’ that willremove old oil, oxide particles, acids, solids. Theadditives in UFA coat the tubes during flushingeliminating the white oxides that were experiencedwith R11, R141b etc.

• It should be noted that ERG UFA will NOT removewater from systems – water should be removed bycracking joints, disconnecting components (at the lowpoints in the system).

• Gloves and goggles should be worn when using ANYflush.

• Flushing using ERG UFA – Split Systems. It is awaysadvisable with split systems to separate the components– especially if the system has a hermetic compressor,these would have to be removed from the system andhand flushed, pouring fluid flush into the suction anddischarge ports, manually agitating, pouring out andvacuuming.

• Flushing using ERG UFA – Auto Air Conditioning. Toproperly flush car airconditioning the system should bepartially dismantled, the compressor should bedisconnected, the filter drier must be removed (do notre-use the filter drier – always fit a new one). Theexpansion device should also be removed.

• Flushing using ERG UFA – Larger Units/Chillers etc.

• Compressors should have all the old oil removed beforeflushing, and filled with new oil after the initial flushand vacuum.

• TX valves, Filter driers, oil separators, liquid receiversand suction accumulators should all be removed andflushed separately.

• Gloves and goggles should be worn.

It isnon-corrosive and acts as an effective corrosioninhibitor to protect bare metal surfaces.Flammability precautions are recommended; boilingtemperature of 55˚C, it is a fast evaporating solvent,which evacuates from systems quickly under vacuum.It’s low viscosity and solvency increases theeffectiveness of the flushing procedure. Theprinciple additive is designed to increasethe products ability to dissolve gummyoil oxidation products and looseninsoluble materials inside heatexchangers, pipes and housing.

T SUITABLE FOR ALL APPLICATIONSERG UFA is used for internally cleaningall refrigeration or air conditioning systemcomponents or pipe work. It may also beused as a fluid for cleaning of parts byimmersion.This product replaces toxic andenvironmentally unacceptable productssuch as HCFC 141B, CFC R11 and othercommercial solvents. Also suitable forflushing auto trans coolers, hydraulicsystems and other industrial flushing orcleaning applications.

COMPATIBLE WITH ALLREFRIGERANTSERG UFA is compatible with modern O ringand seal materials. It is compatible withall refrigerants and lubricants commonlyin use and has no effect on motor windingvarnishes or hermetic assembly lacquers.As no residue is left inside the systemafter the system has been on high vacuumfor one hour, no dilution of refrigerant oilcan occur.There are, consequently, noresidues to contaminate refrigerants.

BENEFITS & ADVANTAGESERG UFA is compatible with allrefrigerants and commonly used lubricants,modern O Ring and Seal materials. ERGUFA does not leave residue inside system,therefore preventing dilution ofrefrigerants and oils. ERG UFA is simpleand clean to use. UFA can be deliveredinto systems using hand pumps suitablefor use with solvents, agitated and pushedthrough systems using dry air or drynitrogen. This process assists withevaporating residue prior to re-assembly.

SPECIFICATIONSERG UFA is a fast evaporating, lightaliphatic petroleum fluid with specificadditives. It is blended to a preciseformula, which makes it a perfect flushingsolvent suitable for all applications.

FLUSHING SYSTEMSUsed 100% by volume under pressurethrough the heat exchangers and pipeworkof air conditioning or refrigeration plantwith TX Valve, orifice, or Capillarybypassed, and with filter receiver drierremoved.The compressor should beflushed separately to the rest of thesystem. Each of the above componentsshould be isolated or replaced withflushing blocks.

SERVICING PLANT BY FLUSHINGUsually required after compressor failure,system contamination through ingress ofmoisture, the use of incorrect lubricatingoil, or the need to change from onelubricant to another if required by changeof refrigerant type.

It should be noted that in the event ofmajor service on refrigeration or airconditioning plant, the plant manufacturermay recommend flushing all componentsafter a recommended number of hours oryears of service. At which time, themanufacturer may require replacementfilters, receivers, seals, bearings, valves orcontrol components.The systemmanufacturer’s recommendations shouldalways be considered.

ERG 1000 SyntheticRefrigerant Oil is a fully synthetic

industrial lubricant developedspecifically for auto air conditioningcompressors. It is especiallyformulated for severe service underconditions that are beyond thecapabilities of conventional mineraloils.It is compatible with all commonlyused refrigerants, and does notabsorb moisture. Ideal replacementfor Polyolester (POE) andPolyalkyleneglycol (PAG) lubricant,and superiorto both.

COMPATIBILITYERG 1000 is the ideal lubricant for maximumefficiency in all applications.They can also besafely used in all systems, with all refrigerantsincluding: R11, R12, R13b, HCFC-22, R123a,HFC-134a, R404A, R401a, R502, R22,R400+, R717 (ammonia), R600a (isobutane)and R290 (propane).

VIRTUALLY NON-HYGROSCOPIC Moisture reduces lubrication performance, andice may form at low pressure points. Moisturealso reacts with the refrigerant gas creating acidwhich attacks components, motor windings andgenerally shortens the life of the compressor.ERG 1000 is virtually non-hygroscopic, whichmeans parts will have longer life and needfewer oil changes.
