What is Erasmus+?

The Erasmus+ programme provides life-enriching opportunities for EU citizens to develop their career, with options available for those in participating EU countries to spend up to 12 months in the country of their choice.

This makes taking an Erasmus+ programme the perfect way to boost your employability skills and spend time living, working and studying in the UK.

Twin’s Erasmus+ programmes

At Twin, we have two courses available for Erasmus students, our Erasmus Internship and Erasmus Teacher Development, which are ideal for improving your employability skills and enhancing your portfolio. Internship opportunities are available in many multinational companies, in a variety of sectors, so you can be sure that we will find the best possible work placement for you.

Alternatively, our Teacher Development Programme, which is taught at our British Council accredited schools in London and Eastbourne, will help you to gain a better understanding of communicative teaching.

Teacher development programme

Erasmus+ Internships

Available at our British Council accredited schools in London and Eastbourne, our Teacher Development course aims to make you a stronger and more confident teacher. To do this, our teachers focus on developing your teaching methods and lesson style if you are an English teacher or you deliver your subject in English.

Gain a better understanding of communicative teachingThis modular course gives you the opportunity to learn more about the communicative teaching methods that we use in the UK. You will look at the theoretical and practical aspects of lessons and gain a better understanding of how varied methodologies create effective learning.

Adopting the CLIL methodology Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) can be incorporated into the programme. Aimed at teachers who deliver their subject in English, the course will broaden your range of teaching methods to create engaging lessons. You will be able to put the CLIL methods into practice by delivering sessions to other teachers.

Available in a range of companies, the 2-24 week Erasmus Internship will help you to gain valuable work experience so that you stand out from the crowd, and is a great way to support your studies. The placement aims to develop your language ability and employability skills, by helping you get the experience you need in your desired sector and allowing you to apply the skills that you have gained at university to your role.

Valuable London work experience All of our Erasmus professional internships are available in London, which guarantees access to one of the most diverse job markets in the world. This will increase your chances of employment in the UK and worldwide, whilst developing your skillset and kick-starting your work portfolio. Roles are available in multinational companies, allowing you to develop your English language ability, improve your vocabulary and enjoy the vibrancy of city life.

In this consultation, we will set out your objectives and discuss your personal career goals to ensure that we find the right placement for you.

Quality English tuition for internsWe can offer English courses at one of our British Council accredited schools in London or Eastbourne. If you are opting to do our Erasmus internship and feel that you need some extra English tuition before you begin, you could spend a week doing our General English course in order to boost your language ability. Alternatively, you could take one-to-one classes and tailor the lesson to your individual needs, which is especially effective if you want to increase your vocabulary for a particular sector.

Studying at either of our schools gives you the chance to take part in our social programme, which includes a range of things to see and do, such as theatre visits, pub nights and walking tours. This is a great opportunity for you to meet other Twin students and enjoy the lively social scene of the UK.

London tours to see the sightsIn addition to English classes, we are able to organise visits to many London attractions, so that you can make the most of your time here. With one of the best transport systems in the world, London is easy to explore, and we are able to arrange travelcards for your stay which can be used on the vast London Underground, trains, iconic red buses and the DLR.

Our new school in the heart of Greenwich

Your English tuition will take place at our new school in London Greenwich. You will learn in bright classrooms, equipped with electronic teaching aids, and will benefit from a broad range of teaching methods alongside other students from all over the world. Our school is accredited by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) and the British Council, who noted six areas of strength in their most recent inspection.There is a café, library, swimming pool and gym on-site, so you can grab a snack, enjoy a swim/workout* or read a good book in your spare time.

The school is a short distance away from the O2 arena where you can sample a variety of food and watch the latest releases at the cinema.
