Francis attended Torrance High School and worked as a press- man for the Automatic Print- Ing Co. before going Into the Navy. Others surviving hjm are two brothers and a sister. He had served one year Mid nine months hi the Navy. * CLAUDE BRUCK, Staff Sergeant, A.A.F. A brother of Mrs. Marie Fried- ly, of 101.2 Arlington ave., was killed In u glider crash at Dal- hart, Texas, on January 23, 1943. Eugene Shaner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shaner of 1622 Crenshaw blvd., was reported missing August 17, 1914, and his death was confirmed De- cember 13, 1944. He was a graduate of . Torranoe High School and lived hi Torrance 11 years prior to entering the Air Forces In which he served one year and eight months. He also leaves two brothers, Ed- ward, an Army X-Ray techni- cian, and Bill, a senior in Tor- rance High. •k EABL W. WATSON, Flight Officer, A. A. F. Earl W. Watson, son of Mrs. Martha W. Evans, 1214 El Pra- do, was killed In a plane crash August 14, 1041, near London, England. A native of Santa Monica, he graduated from high school there. He was at- tached to the British Ferry Command. In addition to his mother. Flight Officer Watson Is survived by his wife and one son, who live at Coronado. * FEED QUAGGIN, . Chief Engineer, U. S. M. S.. Fred Qnaggin's death was con- firmed after he had been de- clared missing hi action on July 7, 1943. He died when the ship on which he was seirlng was torpedoed.
