PreparationIf this is the first time you will be installing Episys you can continue to the next step.

If this is a re-install of Episys, verify the Remote Administrator Server is closed before continuing. The installation will fail if the program is open.

To close the program right click the Remote Administrator Server icon select Close.

Step 1To begin, click Install Episys.


Step 2Close any running programs, then click Next.

If you are reinstalling Episys, please close the Remote Administrator Server before continuing. This is found on the Windows taskbar next to the clock.


Step 3Enter the Episys host you would like to connect to, then click Next.


Step 4Enter the SYM number you want to default to when connecting to Episys, then click Next.

This field cannot be left blank. If you don’t know the SYM number, enter 0.


Step 5Enter your Episys username, then click Next.

For higher security, you can leave this field blank.


Step 6The setup wizard will now begin copying files to your computer. Click Next, or Continue.

If you made a mistake, click the Back button and make any necessary changes.


Step 7Once the core files have been copied to your system you must now download your Credit Union(SYM) specific files.

Make sure you are connected to the network and click Download.


Step 8Please wait for the files to download to your computer.


Step 9You may see this screen during the installation if you have the Windows Firewall enabled. You will need to allow the Remote Administrator Server (RAS) software through your firewall for Episys to function properly.

To allow, click Unblock.


Step 10After the files are finished downloading, reboot your computer.

Click Start, Turn Off Computer, Restart.

*A reboot is required to continue the installation and before using Episys.

Step 11When your computer finishes rebooting, the Episys Member Photo wizard will start.

Click Next to continue.

*If your computer did not complete the download from Step 8, do not proceed with the Member Photo install. The Member Photo add-in must be installed after a successful host download.

Step 12Enter the Member Photo username, then click Next.

This field will be the same as Step 5.

Step 13Enter the Member Photo passphrase, then click Next.

This field cannot be left blank.

Step 14Enter the Credit Union institution number, then click Next.

This field will be the same as Step 4.

Step 15The Member Photo software is now installed on your computer.

Click OK to return to your desktop.

Step 16Congratulations!

Episys is now installed and ready to use.

Step 1To begin the installation click Next.

Step 2Review the licensing agreement. If you agree to the terms click I accept the terms of the license agree, then click Next.


Step 3Select the Standard setup and click Next.


Step 4Here you will add the printer to you want to install. Click Add.


Step 5In the Select driver drop down list, click the printer to you want to install.

In the Port Type drop down list, select USB or Parallel depending upon your printer type.


Step 6Review your selections, then click Next.


Step 7Review your selections and click Next.


Step 8Click Next to begin copying files



Your printer is now installed.

The next step is to configure the printer.

Click Finish to close the window.


Step 10Open the Printer control panel and right click the EPSON TM-T88IV Receipt printer.

Left click on Properties to display the printer properties menu as shown.


Step 11Click on the Advanced Tab.

Now click the Printing Defaults button.


Step 12Click the Document Settings tab.

Enable the Print all text as graphic images option.

Now click Apply to save the changes.


Step 13Click on Paper Source

Change the Paper Source option to Custom.


Step 14Click on the Document End button.


Step 15Uncheck the Feed to cut position before cutting option.

Change the cutting method to Do not cut.

Click OK when finished.


Step 16Click on the Page End button.


Step 17Check the Feed to cut position before cutting option.

Change the cutting method to Cut.

Click OK when finished.


Step 18Click OK to close the window.


Step 19Click OK to close the window.



The printer configuration is now complete.

Click OK to close the window.

Step 1Download the Star printer driver from the Synergent Update website using the link below.

Step 2Click the Star TSP-700 button listed on the Hardware section of the website.

Save the file to your desktop.


Step 3Open the file you downloaded to your desktop called Star_TSP700.exe , then click OK.


Step 4Under the Model drop down list, select the printer you would like to install.

After selecting a printer click Extract files for installation via Windows Add Printer Wizard.


Step 5Click the No button to decline the Status Monitor installation.


Step 6Plug the printer into an open USB port on your computer.

The computer will see the printer and load the Found New Hardware Wizard.

Click Next to start the wizard.


Step 7Click No, not this time and click Next.


Step 8Click Search for a suitable driver for my device, and click Next.


Step 9Click Specify a location, and click Next.


Step 10Click Browse to open an Explorer window. Browse to the Star folder created on your desktop created by the Star_TSP700 program.

Open the StarRas folder under the Star parent folder and double click the file OEMPRINT.inf


Step 11The wizard will find the printer driver and display the search results.

Click Next to use the driver.


Step 12Select the Star TSP700 Raster Printer with status monitor option, then click Next.


Step 13If you receive a warning window click Continue Anyway.



Your printer has been installed.

The next step is to configure the printer.



Step 16Open the Printer control panel and right click the Star TSP700 Raster Printer with status monitor printer.

Left click on Properties to display the Printer Preferences menu as shown.


Step 17Under the Layout tab, click Advanced.


Step 18Under Paper/Output, click the Paper Size drop down.

Select Full Width 72mm*Receipt option, then click OK.



The printer configuration is now complete.

Click OK to close the window.



Signature PadsClick on the type of Signature Pad you would like to install.

Step 1To begin the installation click Next.


Step 2Review the Read Me file, then click Next.


Step 3Review the destination folder, then click Next.


Step 4Choose your Operating System from the list, then click OK.


Step 5Select a Signature Pad from the list, then click OK.


Step 6Select the HSB connection type and click OK.


Step 7Unplug the Signature Pad if you have already plugged it in and click OK.


Step 8Review the licensing agreement. If you agree to the terms click Agree.


Step 9If you would like a desktop shortcut choose Yes, then click OK.


Step 10Click OK on the informational notices.


Step 11You may now plug in the Signature Pad.

When you have plugged in the Signature Pad, click OK.



The Signature Pad configuration is now complete.




Web CamerasClick on the type of Web Camera you would like to install.

Step 1Select Custom installation, then click Next.


Step 2Click Logitech QuickCam drivers and click Next.


Step 3Review the licensing agreement. If you agree to the terms click “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and click on Next.


Step 4When your computer finishes copying files you can plug in your Web Camera.

Windows will recognize the camera and finish the configuration.



The Web Camera configuration is now complete.

Click Done to close the window.
