EACH ONE TEACH ONE CHARITABLE FOUNDAITON
1. What was the idea to set up the foundation? Tell us a little
about the founder/s
and their reasons to set up EOTO.
It was the zeal of one, followed by the zest of few, resulting
in a zing of many that
provided the necessary impetus to this movement called EOTO -
Each One Teach One.
One fine day Mrs. Jyoti N. Tanna observed 5 children washing
cars and wiling away
their time when they should have been at school. On
understanding their challenges
she decided to support their education and never look back
thereafter since 1983. Till
date EOTO has touched the lives of over 8982 children and the
journey continues.
2. With so many Education NGOs existing, what was the rationale
in creating anew one?
Coming from a large family and limitations in education prompted
Mrs. Tanna to spread
literacy among young children with the motto Educate a Child,
Discover a Personality.
3. What have been your greatest challenges & how have you
overcome them?
During the journey of 28 years we have faced the following
challenges:
1) In difference from municipal and government aided school
authorities.
2) Low motivational levels from both children & parents
because of their economic
situations.
3) Getting dedicated teachers who are able to empathize with the
situations.
We have made efforts to overcome these challenges as
follows:
1) Building regular and good rapport with school authorities and
collaborating with
them in projects wherever possible.
2) Informative & motivational workshops for both children
and parents. Involvement
of teachers with social workers from the community.
3) Tie up with professional organizations and colleges to obtain
quality teachers..

4. What motivates the team at EOTO?
EOTO gives the team a platform to serve the needy children of
society. The ex-students
who have made a remarkable change for themselves and society are
great source of
encouragement to the team.
5. Do you have any plans for expansion?
EOTO has been consistent in reaching out to more needy children
each passing year in
urban and rural India. Therefore we are presently touching the
lives of approx. 10000
children.
6. How do you think your organisation has impacted its
beneficiaries?
Besides touching the lives of 10000 children , EOTO has to its
credit Doctors,Engineers, Chartered Accountants, Teachers etc. The
satisfaction realized by all is
when these professional are once again engaged in giving back to
EOTO what they
once received.
7. What kind of support would you want from those reading this
article.
You can support EOTO in the following ways:
