II. Company Policy



PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia as tire and golf ball factory was determined to

create, preserving and protect the environment that clean and healthful with

the way control as well as prevention efforts of environmental impact steady.

To embody the determination of the above, the company set environmental

policy as follows :

1. To obey all regulation, government regulation and fulfillment environment rules standard as which have listed in the PROPER

(Performance of company’s ratings in managing the environmental).

2. To determined goals and objectives of the field environmental examines periodically.

3. To increase awareness about the activity of understanding and

environmental friendly in accordance with the guideline ISO 14001 to all

employees, contractors and suppliers.

4. To reduce or change the resources and energy to minimize the impact of the environment as the adaptability on climate change as well as the protection of biodiversity and ecosystem.

5. To improve continuous the Environment Management System to be better performance.

The Policy is made to be carried out by all employees, contractors and suppliers of PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia. January 2018

Environment Committee has responsibility to report environmental activities to the President Director as a Committee Chairman. Coordinator and sub coordinator implement the programs and get

suggestion from advisor. Environment Committee have representative in each department, which have responsibility to control the implementation of environmental progress in this area. This organization structure shows that the management has high

commitment of environmental programs.

As a manifestation of our commitment in keeping the environment aspect in good condition. We have implement the Environmental Management System (EMS) consistently and we have obtained the certificate of ISO 14001 since 2003 version 2004 and in October 2016,

already obtained ISO 14001 version 2015.

Perfect Zero Emission is the activity by involve all employees to prevent waste of company to pollute the environmental surrounding.

Perfect Zero Emission means that all effect to control and monitor waste which didn’t have effect land field and has achieved excellent until index zero and already achieved Perfect Zero Emission since August 2008.

Objectives of monitoring and measuring activities are as follow : 1. Provide friendly environmental condition for employees based on the

existing regulation from government. 2. Anticipate and prevent any kind of condition which have potential to

may give bad impact to the employees. 3. Fulfill the requirement of environmental regulation or condition that

applied from the government and continue up to date with the newest regulation.

Monitoring and measuring aspect are as follow : 1. Measuring emission of plant chimney 2. Measuring of noise level 3. Measuring of water pollution 4. Measuring of air ambient ( chemical in air )

5. Measuring emission of factory vehicle ( motora, forklift and company car )

CO2 Reduction is our commitment to support reducing global warming by reduce CO2. There are some activities to reduce CO2 as follows :

1. Continue use natural gas for Co-gen. 2. Reduce electric consumption by remove

N2 process at factory 3. Change gasoline to battery system for some factory vehicle 4. Unified lighting by using LED type

5. Change pump & motors with better efficiency 6. Renewal transformer with energy saving type

We have activities to reduce industrial waste by do recycle waste in the outside company. We separate waste by category and it is very

effective for waste disposal management system.

In the tire manufacturing process , we use naphtha (organic solvent), for solution process and tire cleaning , but also we continue to reduce naphtha consumption. Based on SRI target reduce 2% compare to last year. In additional, we also use the material water base to reduce

use of naphtha or dangerous material and easy burning.

In the tire manufacturing process, we use industrial water for primary process and curing tire, related water usage we have several activities to reduce water consumption with target from SRI is reduce 3% compare to last year. One methode to reduce water

usage by utilize the rain water. In 2017, Surindo already built the 3rd rain water installation.

PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia ensure complying the rules of the environmental regulation by carried out the audit from Lloyds International Register every year. Before Lloyds audit, we do internal audit. During Lloyds audit until now we have result that

all government regulation were complied by us well.

Beside that, we also follow SRI-G annual Audit schedule with auditor Mr.Otsuki. The purpose of audit is to make sure that PT

Sumi Rubber Indonesia complied the environmental regulation of Indonesia.

We take planting trees in opened area and make the garden on the empty area more beautiful. So, will make employees to be comfort,

health and to be happy.

VI.10. Plantation Activities



In 2017, we conducted training of Fire drill for preparation emergency situations in factory. Some employees from representative each department. Will be followed this training and got fire certificate from Fire Departement Karawang region. Some activities in this training are : fire theory and fire extinguisher

introduction and how to use it also continue to practice in field and simulation emergency response.

Fogging

Purpose : To prevent the disease dengue fever who often occured in tropical areas is caused by mosquitoes aedes aygepty.

Blood Donation

We have already done blood donor since 2008, and we do every 3 months, but from 2010 we conducted every month and involved contractors participant.

Purpose : Continue to prepare blood stock for the Red Cross Organization when there are people who need a blood transfusion.

CSR Activities

This year we still do planting 1,500 mangrove trees and join together with other companies at the Pusaka Jaya coast, Karawang, West Java. We continue doing the routine activity ( Mangrove plantation ) every years since 2009.


Purpose : To help reduce abrasive at beach scrape the mainland.

Extra activity of CSR routine, we do donation food and used good clothing . This activity we do every year, and we choose priority area is near around factory.


Purpose : To help alleviate difficult to live a poor and help

people factory around.

PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia successful to got ISO 14001-2015 (New version) Certification from Lloyds register in October 2016. This certification indicated that PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia has excellent commitment to maintain good environmental

management.

PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia got award from

Environment Minister of Indonesia (PROPER) with BLUE Level. BLUE Level is mean a company has required of environmental management is accordance with applicable regulations. This is the minimum value

should be achieved by all companies. PROPER is Business Performance Rating Program which is incentived and disincentived reputational

instrument and designed for continual improvement of Companies compliance performance through mandatory.
