1. INTRODUCTION
Nature is very kind on the human to provide all kind of materials on earth. All kinds
of minerals are available in their raw form in the earth . Mining operations disturb
the terrestrial configuration and natural beauty of the area. The magnitude of
disturbance depends upon how the minerals are extracted from the mining area
and the environmental impact depends upon the location and size of deposits and
the methods adopted for its exploration. By adopting good mining practices it is
moving towards harmonious development where both the operational and
environmental aspects are accorded due weightage.
Every quarry lease holder shall take all possible precautions for the protection of
environment and control of pollution while conducting quarry operation. Under the
mining operation the this management plan is required.
The mining plan has been approved by Directorate of Geology & Mining Regional
Office jabalpur vide letter no. 743 on dtd. 07-03-2017. The Collector office (Khanij
Shakha) Chhatarpur vide letter No. 464/Khanij/2017, dated-28/02/2017.

• No pit was excavated in the past since this is new lease quarry.
• The area in surroundings up to 100meters forms a plain topography with
miner undulations of waste land form.
6. . SCHEME OF TREE PLANTATION:
• Main objective of green belt is to provide a barrier between the source of
pollution and the surrounding areas.
• Green belt helps to capture the fugitive emission and to attenuate the noise
generated apart from improving the aesthetics.
• While making choice of plant species for cultivation in green belts priority is
to be given to create bio – climate.
• The authorities responsible for making green belt must ensure proper
selection of plant species and adequate provision of watering and protection
of saplings exist at site.

-The yearly production from the quarry is proposed Crusher Stone is 50411
Cu.mt/year (Avg.) with Semi Mechanized and Semi Mechanical opencast mining
system.
-Entire details are given in the mining plan.
9. EFFECT ON GROUND WATER LEVEL DUE TO MINING
OPERATION AND ITS PREVENTIVE MEASURES:
• It is a surface mining upto the depth of 30 meters
• Mining will not be done below the water table.
• Mining will be done in non- monsoon period.
• There is no perennial water body in the area. Therefore mining activities
will not cause adverse impacts as the mineral is non toxic in nature.
• Lease area is fairly flat reducing the possibility of soil erosion.
EMP: Bansarai Stone Quarry
• Garland drain will be properly channelized so that the rain water and
wash offs goes into in sedimentation ponds.
• As the manpower likely to be deployed from nearby village, therefore
discharge of domestic waste water is not much and will be easily
controlled with the provision of septic tank and soak pit.
• The stored water will be used for dust suppression and greenbelt
development, etc.
The pit exposed due to mining will become a source for catchment of
rain water and in future it will be helpful to improve the water table of
the area.
10. DETAILS OF SCHEME OF CONTINUOUS RECLAMATION
AND REHABILITATION OF THE LAND DEGRADATION DUE TO
MINING OPERATION:
• Land degradation is one of the major adverse impacts of open cast mining
activities and any effort to control adverse impacts would be incomplete
without appropriate land reclamation strategy.
• It is a mining below five hectares lease area, which is very small in nature
therefore no damage of the land is anticipated.
• The area is likely to be degraded due to quarrying, pitting & roads.
• The impact on the land form or Physiography will be limited to the
modification of the slope.
• The landscape and land use will undergo a radical change due to open cast
mining. The impact during plan period is limited as benches will be formed on
the already degraded land.
• Besides these benches, roads will also modify the Physiography.
• By the completion of project period plantation will grow up and will form
green belt around the Quarry Land area.
• During the plan period, benches will reach the ultimate pit limit. The total
exploited Crusher Stone shall be transported to crusher plant of making
aggregates therefore no waste shall be generated.
• Reclamation and rehabilitation will be started at the end of mine life which
required sufficient quantity of waste etc. for back filling. Availability of waste
at the closing time of mine will be very less to meet requirement; hence the
mined out pit will be developed as water reservoir in future.
• Experience of scientific mining work will be achieved by the applicant and
workers which can be utilized for further achievements related to mining.

Therefore the quality of ambient air will be as good as heaven.
• As the mining is of small scale, the potential sources of air pollution arising
from mining operations would be Drilling, haul roads, exhaust fumes of
internal combustion machines, combusting of fuel oil and transportation of
• Due to this mining activities air quality will undergo certain significant
change.
• Air pollution caused by mining and associated activities can be classified into
the following categories:
• Gaseous Pollutants (Nitrogen Oxides, Sulphur Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide)
• Suspended Particulate Matter.
The present level of mining is not anticipated to raise the concentration of the
pollutants beyond the prescribed limits. However, the following measures are being
adopted in the proposed mining activity to mitigate the PM levels in ambient air.
Mitigation Measure:
Mining activities will generate certain quantities of dust during drilling, blasting,
loading and transportation operations. The following measures willbe taken to
mitigate the fugitive dust from different operations:
To avoid the dust generation from the drilling operations, wet drilling method
will be adopted.
