MarthaShufeltReceivesthePatLefreniereMemorialPinMarthahasbeeninvolvedwithYLCsince1982.Sincethen,shehastutoredmorethan20students,includingseveralinmatesattheCowansvilleInstitution,aKoreanwomanwhosehusbandwastransferredtoworkinBromont,andseveralolderyouthwhoneededastep-upinlife.Currently,sheworkswithErnestonthesequelto“MyGirls”,storiesaboutlifeonthefarm.

Inadditiontobeingaliteracytutor,Marthahasservedtheliteracycommunityintoomanywaystocount. CongratulationsMarthaonawell-deservedhonour…thePatLafrenièreMemorialAward.
