You don't have to fish to enjoy this caravan! Explore, golf, enjoy the lakes, walk or bike the nearby rail trail and relax in the company of your fellow travelers.

We are excited this will be a caravan going to two lakes this year! The caravan fee of $460.00 for a 2-person rig may be paid in two installments, with the $230.00 deposit due Jan 15, 2020, balance due March 15, 2020. See the coupon on page 5. Please send the coupon along with your deposit or amount in full made out to WA Unit, WBCCI to:

Deborah Haley [email protected] 9101 Steilacoom RD SE #77 Olympia, WA 98513 There are options for those wishing to only go to one lake or the other, or stay in a cabin at Black Beach on Curlew. Please see the coupon for pricing and deposit info on all the options. We plan on arriving at Silverline Resort on Pearrygin Lake near Winthrop on Monday May 4, 2020. Some may overnight at Beebe Bridge Park. It’s about 250 miles from WLYH to Pearrygin Lake. (Beebe Bridge to Pearrygin Lake is about 67 miles). We have 13 sites reserved here. You will be able to pull your boat up on shore near the RV sites, and boats and motors are also available to rent. Boat launch is free for RV guests. We will leave Silverline on Friday May 8th and drive to Black Beach on Curlew Lake near Republic (about 124 miles). We will leave Curlew Lake on Friday the 15th. Curlew to WLYH is 341 miles. (Curlew to Beebe Bridge is about 132 miles). We have 20 sites reserved here. Light boats and inflatables may be pulled up on shore right in front of the RV sites, and docks are available for a fee for larger boats. Again, the boat launch is free for RV or Cabin guests. There’s great golfing near Pearrygin Lake! Fishing will be great! A breakfast (Harold Campbell’s famous beer pancakes!) and a supper will be provided. 49’ers Days will be happening over Mother’s Day weekend in Winthrop for those who wish to stay longer than May 8th.

Adventures await in the Republic area! You can dig for fossils, visit an antique car and truck museum, ride horses and take in the other amenities at Diamond K Ranch, ride your bikes or walk on the rail trail, and other interesting things to do. Four meals will be provided at Curlew Lake, (get ready for Dan’s outstanding biscuits and homemade gravy!) Ladies' day in Republic and Mother's Day Lunch/Brunch at the Ranch will be no-host. Impromptu potlucks are always a possibility; groceries and supplies available in the nearby towns of Winthrop and Republic. A pizza feed will be provided on the last night.

We’ll have social hour and door prizes every evening at 4:00 pm, games, fishing prizes and of course, Billy Bass lies in wait for those who provide the best social hour tales of missteps and misadventures! Billy Bass will be passed around each night as the tales and misdeeds unfold. Remember, Billy is meant to be fun and entertaining! At Curlew, we plan to have a movie night with popcorn, a trivia night with prizes, and depending on our campers, music and singing.

Splash Rally

We will arrive on Thursday, July 16, at Howard Miller Steelhead Park, 52804 Rockport Park Rd., Rockport, WA 98283, in the early afternoon (exit 230 off I-5 to Hwy 230, 35 miles East to Rockport).

There are a lot of activities available on this rally but the first will be Happy Hour (HH) at the picnic shelter around 4 PM where introductions will be made and I will go through the activities for you. After HH, at a

time yet announced, some of us will go to Nehalem for the "Dam good chicken dinner” and tour of Ladder Falls. This dinner is served family style so bring an appetite. Our group is too big to go on one night so we will split it up into the 16th and 17th. Those going to dinner on Friday may want to organize a potluck on

Thursday night and the same for Friday night. I will let everyone know who goes when later.

On Friday you can do as much or little as you like. We have an ala carte menu and if you didn’t sign up for something Friday there is still plenty of fishing, biking, hiking and sightseeing to be had or just relax. We will have HH at 4 PM at the shelter again on Friday.

Saturday the 18th, for those of you not White Water rafting there is still plenty to do to entertain yourselves

if you don’t have a menu item to do. Those that are WW rafting will, at a time yet determined, carpool to the park, I don’t know the name as yet, to meet our guides, Alpine Adventures, where we will get wetsuits, PFD’s and helmets and then get transported to the put in spot on the Sauk river. The trip will be 9 miles of

river in around 4 hours. The trip will end where we left our cars. Then it’s return the gear and head back to the RV park and HH at 4 ish at the shelter.

After or during HH there are BBQs available on site so bring something to BBQ and a side to share for dinner. There will be more info later on the potluck.

There are some cabins at the RV park (888-226-7688) to rent for those who no longer have an Airstream.

You will need to reserve and pay for them yourselves. The $95 RV site fee does not apply to you but you will still need to fill out the rally coupon, especially phone and e-mail, so I can get a head count.

Unfortunately there is an age limit of 12 years or older for the Sauk river WW trip and if you are unable to paddle or assist in your own recovery, if you choose to swim, this may not be for you. There is a Skagit river trip that has no age or ability restrictions run by the same Alpine Adventures, 360-863-6505, or

alpineadventures.com. You will need to pay and set this up yourselves, but if those who want to do it let me know and I will get you in touch with each other.

There are several fishing guide services in the area that guide the Skagit and Sauk rivers. Just “google” Skagit river fishing guides and several will pop up. For those who want to self guide we are camped on the

banks of the Skagit river.

This rally will fill up fast so DON’T WAIT. We only have 30 RV sites reserved for the rally. We will have a wait list after all 30 sites are taken. Do not call the park to reserve one of the 30 sites, we have already done that. You must fill out a coupon to get one of the sites.

Please fill out all the info on the rally coupon, especially phone and e-mail, which is in the next edition of

the newsletter.

PREPARE TO GET WET!

The region 10 rally in Lynden, Wash. will take place beginning July 21, so if you are going to it you might want to stay an extra day or two if the RV park has space.

Lee and Jan Wyman 206-419-1726, [email protected]
