My interview with DJ R WAN was longawaited. He’s clearly in demand with a verybusy schedule and that’s a good thing in themusic industry; it shows that his ‘electrogroove’ style of music is relevant and it landshim at the top of the ‘A’ list!

At the start of our interview we seemed tohave some technical problems. He was inMorocco and our line had a bad connection.Nevertheless, we finally touched base and Iwas able to find out what’s up with R WAN.

Lakesha: DJ R WAN how are you today?Tell us about what you have going right now.How is your tour coming along?

DJ R WAN: I’m DJ R WAN originally fromParis and I’m on tour all around the world. Idid an album in 2011 and it hit gold with morethan sixty thousand copies. Right now I’m ontour working on different projects.

Lakesha: OKAY, that’s great, Where did youget your inspiration for this latest project?

DJ R WAN: My inspiration comes from whatI play in the club. I saw the movement in theclub and the music changed. The musicswitched in 2006 or 2004 we played just R&Bbut now we mix the house and electro musicthat’s why I have a style its called electro-groove.

Lakesha: You’re showing up in videos thesedays. There was a time when DJ's weren’tseen, they were in the background. But youhave cameos in videos ... does this help buildyour fame?

Anybody can see your music video online andthat’s really good. When we have a big hit likemy track ‘Clear’ we have to make a video.

Lakesha: Right now on Facebook you haveover one hundred - seventeen thousandfollowers.

DJ R WAN: Yeah, we have a little strategy.I’m on tour all the year and all the time whenI perform in the club, I ask the club to makemy Facebook link and Twitter link on theflyers, so that’s a big promotion. That’s whyI have a lot of followers.

Lakesha: When are you coming to the US?

DJ R WAN: I have 3 dates in Miami, NewYork and then I move back to Paris April 14th.

Lakesha: Do you think you’ll ever make theUS your home?

For the moment I am in Paris and its not easybecause I have all of my business here but Iwill be there 4 months out of the year ...

I’m lots of time in Los Vegas. That’s a goodthing.

Lakesha: (laughing) Yeah, that’s a fun place.

Lakesha: When you aren’t working so hardwhat do you do to enjoy life?

DJ R WAN: I’m doing sports. I’m a boxertoo. I train 4 times a week, I’m really busy inthe studios working on projects. My manageris from Vegas and we do a lot of worktogether. I’m on the plane a lot, I take like 60planes every year. All the time I travel or amovie ... sometimes movie.

Lakesha: Okay movies, that’s simple!

DJ R WAN: Yeah, (laughing) I’m reallysimple .. Really, really simple.

Lakesha: So are there any artists that youhave in mind who you’d love to work with?

DJ R WAN: Right now I’m working on twodifferent projects. I’m working on Akon’sproject, he has a track with a French artist andI’m working on the beats right now and I workwith a project from a girl she is going to signon Pit Bull’s label and the girl she is fromColumbia. And I’m working on my on myown project which is my next album, I thinkis going to be for the next year. I want to workthe biggest artists. I have Usher on my mindand Chris Brown on my mind. I try to makea great bid to work with these kind of artists.

Lakesha: Well, those are some big artistsright there and your sound is definitely hot ...it gets people on the dance floor. I’m sure youwill work your way up to those artists. Its hotI had to go back to your website and listenagain. It’s definitely electro-groove!

Lakesha: So, is there anything you want yourfans to know about you?

The Legacy Of Christopher Walker

On Wednesday March 12th, 2013, Christopher Walker’s body laidin his driveway, right in front of his home--- the place we all shouldfeel safe.

No mother should have to walk outside and witness her sonstruggling for life. No friend should have to say goodbye so soon.No spouse should have to lose the love of their life. No fathershould have to bury his son. No family should lose someone likethis.

Christopher, was and is a shining example of the best in humanity;he represents you, your home, and your family. The act wassenseless, but neither Chris nor we need to be voiceless. Share.share his story, share the joy of his life, help fight against suchviolence. Christopher…our joy then, and our beloved joy now.
