Stan asked…
Why is it important to
tell the truth?
It was very strange seeing everyone dressed in red instead of school uniform today - thank
you to everyone who bought a red nose to support Comic Relief. This week, children have
been putting what they have learned into practice during maths and reading assessments.
I have felt extremely proud of those children who have tried their very best and shown
perseverance, even when they have found things tricky. Well done!
It has been great to see our PCSO outside school, speaking to parents about parking.
It’s amazing how safely drivers park when the police are present! Mrs Channing

William is a hero!
Last weekend, William from Year Two was with his Grandad
in MacDonalds. When he noticed that his Grandad was
choking, he quickly leapt into action. He remembered what he
had learned in school and slapped his Grandad hard on the
back, whilst calling for help. Luckily, due to William’s quick thinking, his Grandad was
saved. What a clever boy you are, William! You remembered what you had been
taught and acted quickly. You are a hero!
RAFT Treasure Hunt fun!
Teachers are getting their fancy dress costumes ready for the annual RAFT Teacher
Treasure Hunt, to be held on 1st April after school. This is a fun event where disguised
teachers hide in local shop windows for children and adults to find (please note that
children must be accompanied by an adult). Treasure Hunt clue sheets cost £2 each
and you may buy one for the family, or one for each member of your group!
Completed clue sheets will be collected at the The Oak pub (start and finish point) and
entered into a prize raffle draw. Come along and have lots of fun!
Last week, Stan set Holly’s riddle for you to solve. It was: What travels the world but always stays in the corner? The answer is: A stamp!
On Thursday, the RSPCA Great Ayton branch manager, Mrs
Duffill, visited school to meet with Fraser, Eve, Mia and Phoebe
to talk to them about the centre and give them gifts as a thank
you for their fundraising efforts! What a lovely gesture! Breakfast club and
school meals - a polite
request!
We are not in a financial
position to subsidise school
meals or Breakfast Club.
If you owe money for either
of these, please ensure that
your child does not attend
Breakfast Club or have a
school meal until debts are
promptly cleared.
Thank you!

RAFT update
We had a very productive meeting on Monday evening and were excited to hear of the playground equipment that has
been purchased for our children. Plans are in place to spend the Co-op fund money on redesigning both playgrounds
and quotes have been obtained from a number of companies to ensure best value. We also talked about the Summer
Fair. If you would like to help RAFT with this exciting event, please email [email protected]
Marie Curie daffodils are now on sale,
raising money for a very worthwhile and important charity.
