Director of Honors identified professions of interest to honors students

President of OLLI extended invitations to VOLLIs and OLLI students

Honors hosted monthly “lunch & learns” 1 OLLI member met with 15 to 20 students

interested learning more about that month’s featured profession

Career Connections (Part II) 2012 - ? (Inaugural program tonight!)

Purpose Provide all 200 Honors students with life/career

perspective from the retirement end Demonstrate how real life twists & turns affect a career

plan Demonstrate the impact that contingency, chance,

flexibility and new information have on life/career Expose students to careers they didn’t know existed

Format: Table Talk 8 OLLI members from a variety of backgrounds 1 OLLI per room Students select where to participate

Judging: STARS [Scholars Transforming Academic Research Symposium] Purpose

Provide traditional students with valuable out of classroom learning experiences in a safe supportive environment

Prepare students to make professional presentations 16 VOLLIs

Provided with rubric for judging Poster: focus, organization, construction, graphics,

content Oral Presentation: content, elocution, delivery

International Visitors Seminars OLLI Instructor involved with GlobalJax (local

chapter of U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program) Committee member for hosting delegations of

emerging leaders from around the globe Teaches a 6 week OLLI course (e.g.

Understanding Our World: Africa) Designs seminars for exchange with visiting

delegations OLLI & UNF Honors students invited to

participate
