The etiological agent of poultry coccidiosis
Eimeria species causing coccidiosis in Gallus gallus (chart P.L. Long & W.M.Reid, 1982):
- Eimeria acervulina
- E. maxima
- E. mitis*
- E. praecox*
- E. tenella
- E. brunetti
- E. necatrix
* Cause subclinical coccidiosis
Both E.mivati and E.hagani are considered nomina dubia (organisms for which the evidence is insufficient to recognise the species).

STUDY OBJECTIVES
• Study the mechanisms of an adjuvant modulating
the immune mechanisms that are triggered in the
host after coccidiosis vaccination.
• Study the important markers of Th1 and Th2
responses.

,SUMMARY
1. HIPRAMUNE® T switches the vaccine immunity towards a stronger Th1 response(↑IL-2, ↑IFN-Ƴ)
2. Without HIPRAMUNE® T, the vaccine would have a stronger Th2 response (↑IL-4, ↑IL-10)
3. In the tissue, HIPRAMUNE® T induces the formation of lymphoid aggregates of T-cells that express IL-2 and IFN-Ƴ
HIPRAMUNE® T + vaccine is able to polarize the immune response towards a
more intenseTh1 response than the live vaccine without HIPRAMUNE® T
,CONCLUSIONS
1. A stronger Th1 response boosts the performance of the coccidiosis vaccine. Better efficacy in worst conditions
2. Pre-clinical studies and on-field results confirm that Duration of Immunity is extended to 60 weeks
3. A stronger Th1 response, does not compromise the Th2 response as it has been seen in field studies
