The information is accurate. This article was written intently for hackers and computergeeks/enthusiasts. There are some words which are only understood by computer persons

but it is also an easy read. Its a light read and I personally had fun reading it whilekeeping its accuracy. It has information on the general understanding of how computersand the internet work. It discusses the distributed pirated material and the hierarchalorganization of the internet piracy.

This is an outstanding article which provides a brief history and introduction to filesharing and also includes tons of information on the economic impacts resulting frominternet piracy. It is a critical reading which questions the arguments proposed by thoseunsupportive of file sharing practices. However, the author's conclusion suggests that filesharing does indeed negatively impact the industry creating the original materials.

This article gives a lot of information about the sudden increase in the enforcement of copyright laws. It gives both view points on how software piracy negatively affects themusic\software industry and on the status quo explaining why piracy cannot bedrastically removed from society.

Khouja, M (2009). Can Piracy Lead to Higher Prices in the Music and Motion Picture Industries? University of North Carolina.

This book mainly focuses on the effects of software piracy to the prices of music andmovies. It doesnt really present solid statistics and research but the authors give goodopinions and overviews on how piracy affects the industry. Knowing if piracy increasesor decreases the prices of digital media (music and movies) is essential to our research.

The source is credible. This article examines some of the most common problemswith using pirated software. The author suggests that users running pirated software canoften run into problems; according to McLaughlin, users may experience "missingupdates, tech support, upgrade discounts," and "problems with corrupted data ormalfunctioning systems." She advises that users check for authenticity before purchasingsoftware (licensing, warranty documentation etc.). For the most part, this article servesas a warning to consumers.
