Eastern Mediterranean University has been offering quality education through 95 undergraduate and school programs and 77 postgraduate and doctoral degree programs provided by 11 faculties, 5 schools and Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School.

EMU is a full member of the International Association of Universities, the European University Association, Community of Mediterranean Universities and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World. Giving special importance to international recognition, EMU has received the accreditation of various prominent international accrediting bodies. EMU is only one of five universities in the region to have been awarded the prestigious ABET (Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology Accreditation) in the field of engineering.

Similarly, EMU Architecture Faculty holds the MİAK accreditation. Business and Economics Faculty, Tourism Faculty and School of Computing and Technology have been granted the accreditation of FIBAA. Education Faculty English Language Teaching (ELT) Department was accredited by AQAS. Additionally, EMU School of Tourism and Hospitality Management gained the accreditation of TEDQUAL and the Computer Technologies and Information Systems offered by School of Computing and Technology (SCT) successfully passed ASIIN accreditation process. EMU Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School has successfully obtained EDEXCEL accreditation. Last but not least, our University’s Business and Economics Faculty is a full member of EFMD and AACSB along with only three universities in Turkey.

EMU FLEPS carries out an International English Language Program which offers intensive English courses for 4 and 8 months. International English Language Program welcomes students above the age of 17 years old. International English Language Program students take the placement exam to determine their English level in order to start the course with appropriate level. This program provides students with the opportunity to explore English outside the class as well. Students can join clubs, trips, seminars, social responsibility projects which help them to improve their English.

At the end of the program students take the proficiency test and they are given EMU and EDEXCEL certificates according to proficiency test result.

The Eastern Mediterranean University Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School (FLEPS) has been providing qua-lity language services to the university and community for over 30 years. We teach a full range of English language courses to preparatory, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and we provide community programmes. We also offer all our students the opportunity to learn a variety of second foreign languages. Our School is an accredited training centre for Cambridge ESOL, and an accredited examination centre for a number of international exams, including IELTS, TOEFL IBT, LCCI, TOLES and City & Guilds.

IELTS: International English Language Testing System. It is an international standardized test of English language proficiency.

TOEFL IBT: The TOEFL IBT test measures students’ ability to use and understand English at the university level and it evaluates how well a student combines his/her listening, reading, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks.

LCCI: LCCI International Qualifications from Pearson are among the best recognized and most highly regarded business-related qualifications in the world. The qualifications include vocationally-related qualifications that cover the key areas of business, as well as language and teaching qualifications.

TOLES: TOLES is the world’s leading English exam which tests legal English skills. It is for students of the Faculty of Law, lawyers & legal translators who are interested in an internationally recognised certificate. There are 3 levels to the TOLES exam series: TOLES Foundation TOLES Advanced TOLES Higher. Law students and lawyers need TOLES because international law firms know that TOLES is the world’s leading legal English exams. Of the many different English exams available, TOLES is favoured by many law firms when selecting or promoting staff. The TOLES certificates in legal English are the most accurate and relevant documents that you can possess.

City & Guilds: City & Guilds International ESOL and Spoken ESOL (SESOL) are communicative English tests focusing on all four language skills (Writing, Reading, Listening and Speak-ing). They are internationally recognized for both academic progression and employment.

CAMPUS LIFEEMU is pleased to offer a complete education experience on a magnificent campus, with a modern library, modern classrooms, computer laboratories with highly efficient computer and internet connections, research labs, research centers, dormitories, student activity center, student clubs, sport complexes, cafeterias and restaurants. Two table d’hote restaurants in campus offer different meals for lunch and dinner at a discount price to students. Life at EMU is fun. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities and may join a broad range of social and cultural events in the university. There are numerous student clubs and societies at EMU for a wide range of activities including tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, handball, cricket, climbing, chess, ceramics, journalism, art, science and culture, literature, folklore, drama and animation, music, cinema, photography and many more. Also, every year EMU organizes a week-long International ‘Spring Festival’ which includes all kinds of social, cultural and sport activities. Lala Mustafa Paşa (LMP) Sports Complex provides high quality sports services 7 days a week, thanks to the latest equipment located in the studios within the complex and staff members who possess expertise on the relevant area. The table tennis hall located in the complex provides free-of-charge services 7 days a week. With a mission of spreading the sports activities nationwide, our directorate takes part in national leagues in the fields of volleyball, basketball, athletics, tennis, handball, billiards, chess, wrestling, cycling, table tennis, triathlon and football tennis. Students representing the university in the leagues may be awarded scholarships by the university. Last but not least, our cricket, bowling, darts, swimming, futsal and football teams successfully represent the University in the inter-university tournaments and leagues.
