Present Continuous

• An action taking place at the time of speaking.

• Action is true presently but may not be true in the long-term

• Action is at a definite point in the future and is arranged

• Short-term or temporary situations in the present

Past Continuous

• Actions that were completed in the past

• Past events that went on for a period of time or a specific point in time

• Emphasize the continuing process of an activity or to emphasize the period of an activity

• Describe an action when something else happen

• A long action in the future interrupted by a short action

• An interruption in the future during a specific time

• 2 or more actions that happened to take place at the same time

• Describe the atmosphere in a specific point in the future where 2 or more actions will happen at the same time
