Why I chose Psychology?

I don’t know exactly why I made this choice. I also don’t want to find out a

great answer. However, there are some facts which lead me to this

decision.

Firstly, it must be my grandparents suffering from

Alzheimer’s.

My grand father died because of this disease and my grand mother currently suffers of it. While it is

difficult, I discovered during this couple of years that I enjoy taking care of grandma and supporting my

family. Talking non-senses with her, trying to lift up her mood, still discovering coherent parts of her, it’s

stressful but enjoyable.

Secondly, since I was young I prefered to just stay in the back listening to people.

I liked observing the way they interact with each other or with me. It still remains one of my favorites activities.

Also, as I grow up, my family and friends started to turn up to me when they needed a listening ear. I’m not the

best listener but I do my best understanding them. I think it’s a good trait to have here.

On the other hand, I had my fair share of being called

weird, too introverted or difficult.

Psychology related materials helped me to understand myself more, to become better. Then I was wondering how it will have been if someone proffesional guided

me. When people have difficult times or they just want to be listened I wish to be able to help them.

Overall, my reasons can be flawed.

I definitely presented them in a good light. However, more then reasons, the state of mind is more important for me. So I’ll say

I just wish to be here.
