National Award for ECU Motorsports course

ECU’s Bachelor of Technology (Motorsports) program was judged to be one of the most innovative university courses in Australia at the 2017 Australian Awards for University Teaching. ECU Motorsports staff received the ‘Award for Programs that Enhance Learning’ from Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham. For students in this course, designing, building and driving a race car are all in a day’s study. Motorsports and Mechanical Engineering graduates have gone on to work with Supercar Championship, NASCAR and other race teams around the world.

“I was particularly impressed by ECU due to its international rankings as well as great facilities.”

While researching various Australian universities for my engineering studies, I was particularly impressed by ECU due to its international rankings as well as great facilities. This led me to apply to ECU for my engineering degree, and I’m really glad I did. The 24/7 access to the e‑labs greatly helped with my study. I have also found the recorded lectures to be highly beneficial. The lecturers are very approachable and appreciate class participation. Also ECU has a great atmosphere as well as various informative, networking and fun events around campus which provide opportunities to meet new people and make important professional contacts. As part of my study I undertook an internship in a construction firm working under a senior engineer which helped me gain an understanding of real world engineering situations, problems and solutions.
