1. REMOVE THE DATA ENTRY PLUG FROM THE EEC WITH APPLICABLE WRENCH. PUT A PLASTIC CAP ON THE EEC CONNECTOR TO PREVENT UNWANTED FLUIDS OR MATERIALS TO GET IN.

2. ON THE D.E.P., REMOVE AND DISCARD THE LOCKWIRE WHICH SAFETIES THE NUT TO THE BACKSHELL. REMOVE THE BACKSHELL FROM THE CONNECTOR OF THE D.E.P.

REMOVE THE ANTI-VIBRATION RUBBER.

NOTE: IAE TESTER P/N IAE2P16369 CAN BE USED FOR ENGINES WITHOUT BIAS. SOME ENGINES HAVE A BIAS SETTING ON THE EPR MODIFIER. THESE ENGINES HAVE DIFFERENT PIN LETTERS NOT INCLUDED ON THE IAE TESTER P/N IAE2P16369.

FOR THESE ENGINES YOU CAN USE ALTERNATIVE METHOD USING A GENERAL MULTIMETER CAPABLE TO READ CONTINUITY OR IAE RANGER P/N IAE2P16552 (IF AVAILABLE)

3. OBTAIN CURRENT ENGINE RATING CONFIGURATION. USE ELECTRICAL TESTER P/N: IAE2P16369:

TEST OF THE ELECTRICAL TESTER:

(i) TURN THE POWER SWITCH TO ON. (THE POWER LIGHT WILL NOT COME ON).

(ii) PUSH THE LIGHT TEST SWITCH. ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE PANEL MUST BE ON. (THE POWER LIGHT WILL NOT COME ON).

NOTE: MAKE SURE BEFORE YOU RECORD THE JUMPER WIRE CONFIGURATION FOR THE D.E.P. THAT ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE PANEL ARE ON.

INSTALL THE DEP TO TESTER:

(i) INSTALL THE DEP ON THE TESTER. ALIGN THE DEP MAIN KEY WITH THE TESTER MAIN KEY-WAY AND TIGHTEN THE BACKSHELL NUT BY HAND.

(ii) SELECT THE APPLICABLE LETTER ON THE SELECTOR SWITCH AND PUSH THE D.E.P. TEST SWITCH. RECORD THE JUMPERED WIRE COMBINATION FROM THE LIGHTS THAT ARE ON. USE FIGURE 3, PAGE 20, UPPER PORTION FOR RECORD.

(iii) REPEAT ABOVE STEP (ii) WITH ALL THE LETTERS OF THE SELECTOR SWITCH. MAKE A RECORD OF THE CONFIGURATION USING FIGURE 3, PAGE 20 UPPER PORTION: CURRENT CONFIGURATION.

NOTE: IF THE IAE2P16369 ELECTRICAL TESTER SPECIFIED IS NO T AVAILABLE, A CONTINUITY CHECK OF THE JUMPER PIN CONNECTIONS CAN BE USED AS AN ALTERNATE MEANS TO DO THIS CHECK.

4. FOR TARGET ENGINE MODEL RATING, FIND THE JUMPER PIN CONNECTIONS AS FOLLOWS:

FOR “STANDARD” ENGINE TYPE (AQ03), CHOOSE FROM TABL E 2, PAGE 13.

FOR “SELECT ONE” ENGINE TYPE (SQ03), CHOOSE FROM TA BLE 2-1, PAGE 14.

HIGHLIGHT THESE AND MARK THIS CONFIGURATION ON THE LOWER PORTION OF FIGURE 3, PAGE 20.

OTHER PIN CONNECTIONS:

• FOR GENERAL EPR MODIFIER, JUMPER PIN CONNECTIONS: TABLE 3 PAGES 15 AND 16.

• RECORD VARIANT No. __________, FOR TARGET RATING: TABLE 2 FOR STANDARD OR TABLE 2-1 FOR SELECT ONE.

• (IF REQUIRED) FOR ENGINE S/N, INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE FOR JUMPER PIN CONNECTIONS IN FIGURE 1, PAGE 17.

NOTE: EPR MODIFIER CAN BE VERIFIED FROM ENGINE DATA PLATE. THIS WILL NOT CHANGE.

5. MODIFY THE D.E.P.

NOTE: THE D.E.P. CAN BE DISASSEMBLED AS NECESSARY TO PERMIT THE INSTALLATION OF NECESSARY JUMPER WIRES.

(i) REMOVE THE UNNECESSARY JUMPERS AND INSTALL THE NECESSARY JUMPERS FOR THE DESIRED VARIANT.

USE P/N: MS27495R20 CONTACT REMOVAL TOOL AND P/N MS27495A20 CONTACT INSERTION TOOL. IF NOT AVAILABLE USE EQUIVALENT TOOLS.

LIGHTLY PULL BACK THE JUMPER TO MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTACT IS LOCKED IN THE COLLET: THE CONTACT IS CORRECTLY LOCKED IF THE JUMPER DOES NOT MOVE REARWARD.

6. DO A CHECK OF THE WIRING, USING ELECTRICAL TESTER IAE2P16369. COMPARE AND WRITE THE RESULTS WITH FIGURE 3, PAGE 20 (LOWER PORTION) - TARGET ENGINE MODEL RATING.

NOTE: IF THE IAE2P16369 ELECTRICAL TESTER SPECIFIED IS NO T AVAILABLE, A CONTINUITY CHECK OF THE JUMPER PIN CONNECTIONS CAN BE USED AS AN ALTERNATE MEANS TO DO THIS CHECK.

7. MARK THE D.E.P. BACKSHELL WITH THE NEW VARIANT No. BY USING THE VIBRATION PEEN METHOD AND FIGURE 1, PAGE 18.

8. AFTER MODIFICATION OF THE JUMPERS ASSEMBLE D.E.P.

a. REMOVE THE SPECIAL PLASTIC PROTECTIVE CAP FROM THE EEC CONNECTOR.

b. CONNECT THE DEP TO THE EEC CONNECTOR. TORQUE TO 32 LBFIN.

• IF ENGINE HAS DATA PLATE P/N: 5A1874 (SINGLE RATING), DO STEP 10 OR STEP 11 AND CHECK APPLICABLE BOX.

STEP 10: □ IF ENGINE IDENTIFICATION PLATE P/N: 5A1874 (SINGLE RATING) IS BEING REPLACED BY THE SAME PLATE TYPE AND P/N.

STEP 11: □ IF ENGINE IDENTIFICATION PLATE P/N 5A1874 (SINGLE RATING), IS BEING REPLACED BY MULTI RATING ENGINE PLATE P/N 5A1942

• IF ENGINE HAS DATA PLATE P/N: 5A1855, 5A1942 OR 5A1875 (MULTI RATING),

DO STEP 12 AND CHECK THIS BOX: STEP 12 □

• IF MULTI RATING DATA PLATE IS BEING REPLACED BY A SINGLE RATING

PLATE P/N: 5A1874, DO STEP 13 AND CHECK THIS BOX: STEP 13 □

10. IF ENGINE IDENTIFICATION PLATE P/N 5A1874 (SINGLE RATING, TABLE 2-B, PAGE 19) IS BEING REPLACED BY THE SAME PLATE TYPE AND P/N:

(a) REMOVE THE FOUR BOLTS (4W0102) THAT HOLD ENGINE PLATE TO THE BRACKET. KEEP THE BOLTS.

(b) REMOVE OLD PLATE AND OBTAIN NEW ENGINE IDENTIFICATION PLATE.

(c) INSTALL THE NEW ENGINE PLATE WITH THE FOUR BOLTS (4W0102).

(d) TORQUE THE FOUR BOLTS (4W0102) BETWEEN 36 - 45 lbf.in. (4,0 - 5,0 Nm.)

(e) GO TO STEP 14.

NOTE: NEW PLATE CAN BE OBTAINED FROM POWERPLANT ENGINEERING.

NOTE: DELIVER OLD PLATE TO POWERPLANT ENGINEERING.

11. IF ENGINE IDENTIFICATION PLATE P/N 5A1874 (SINGLE RATING, FIGURE 2-B PAGE 19) IS BEING REPLACED BY MULTI RATING ENGINE PLATE P/N 5A1942 FIGURE 2-A:

(i) REMOVE THE OLD ENGINE IDENTIFICATION PLATE AND BRACKET FROM THE FAN CASE.

(ii) REMOVE THE LPC MODULE PLATE FROM BRACKET. KEEP THIS PLATE.

(iii) OBTAIN NEW MULTI RATING PLATE P/N 5A1942, BRACKET P/N: 5A1856 AND RATING INDICATOR (IAE RIVET) P/N 5A1857.

(iv) INSTALL RIVET TO ENGINE PLATE AT APPLICABLE ‘VARIANT' LOCATION.

a. SEE STEP 4 FOR CONFIRMATION OF ‘VARIANT’ .

b. DRILL A HOLE 0.098 - 0.101IN. (2,5 - 2,56 mm) DIAMETER AT THE CIRCLE ON THE ENGINE PLATE AT THE DESIGNATED VARIANT. DEBURR THE HOLE.

c. INSTALL THE RIVET P/N 5A1857 THROUGH THE ENGINE PLATE AT THE DESIGNATED VARIANT.

(v) INSTALL THE MULTI RATING PLATE AND BRACKET.

a. INSTALL THE ENGINE PLATE TO BRACKET WITH 4W0102 BOLTS (4 OFF) AND 4W0001 NUTS (4 OFF). TORQUE THE BOLTS (4W0102) BETWEEN 36 - 45 lbf.in. (4,0 - 5,0 Nm.)

b. INSTALL THE LPC MODULE PLATE TO BRACKET WITH 4W0102 BOLTS (2 OFF). TORQUE THE BOLTS BETWEEN 36 – 45 lbf.in (4.0 - 5.0 Nm)

c. INSTALL THE BRACKET TO THE FAN CASE WITH THE 4W0164 BOLTS (2 OFF). TORQUE THE TWO BOLTS (4W0164) BETWEEN 85 - 105 lbf.in. (10,0 - 12,0 Nm.)

(vi) GO TO STEP 14.

NOTE: NEW PLATE CAN BE OBTAINED FROM POWERPLANT ENGINEERING.

NOTE: DELIVER OLD PLATE AND BRACKET TO POWERPLANT ENGINEERING.

12. IF MULTI RATING ENGINE PLATE P/N 5A1942 OR 5A1875 (FIGURE 2-A, PAGE 19) IS ALREADY INSTALLED:

(i) REMOVE THE TWO BOLTS (4W0164), THAT HOLD THE BRACKET TO THE FAN CASE.

(ii) REMOVE THE FOUR BOLTS (4W0102), THAT HOLD THE MULTI RATING PLATE TO THE BRACKET.

(iii) GET A NEW RIVET P/N 5A1857 (FIGURE 2-A)

(iv) REMOVE THE OLD RIVET FROM THE PLATE.

(v) INSTALL THE NEW RIVET IN THE MULTI RATING PLATE AT THE APPROPRIATE 'TAKE-OFF RATING/VARIANT' POSITION

b. DRILL A HOLE 0.098 - 0.101IN. (2,5 - 2,56 MM.) DIAMETER AT THE CIRCLE MARKED ON THE PLATE AT THE DESIGNATED RATING. DEBURR THE HOLE.

c. INSTALL THE RIVET P/N 5A1857 THROUGH THE PLATE AT THE DESIGNATED ‘VARIANT’ .

(vi) INSTALL THE MULTI RATING PLATE AND THE BRACKET

a. INSTALL THE PLATE WITH 4W0102 BOLTS (4 OFF) AND 4W0001 NUTS (4 OFF). TORQUE BOLTS (4W0102) BETWEEN 36 - 45 lbf.in. (4,0 - 5,0 Nm.)

b. INSTALL THE BRACKET WITH 4W0164 BOLTS (2 OFF). TORQUE THE BOLTS (4W0164) BETWEEN 85 - 105 lbf.in (10,0 - 12,0 Nm)

13. IF MULTI RATING PLATE (FIGURE 2-A), IS BEING REPLACED BY SINGLE RATING ENGINE PLATE: FIGURE 2-B PAGE 19.

(i) REMOVE THE OLD ENGINE IDENTIFICATION PLATE AND BRACKET FROM THE FAN CASE. REMOVE BRACKET FROM FAN CASE BY REMOVING BOLTS P/N: 4W0164 (2 OFF).

(ii) REMOVE THE LPC MODULE PLATE FROM BRACKET. KEEP THIS PLATE.

(iii) OBTAIN SINGLE RATING PLATE P/N 5A1874 AND BRACKET P/N: 5A2129.

(iv) INSTALL ENGINE PLATE WITH THE FOUR BOLTS (4W0102) TO THE BRACKET.

(v) TORQUE THE FOUR BOLTS (4W0102) BETWEEN 36 - 45 lbf.in. (4,0 - 5,0 Nm.)

(vi) INSTALL THE LPC MODULE PLATE TO BRACKET WITH 4W0102 BOLTS (2 OFF). TORQUE THE BOLTS BETWEEN 36 – 45 lbf.in (4.0 - 5.0 Nm).

(vii) INSTALL THE BRACKET WITH 4W0164 BOLTS (2 OFF). TORQUE THE BOLTS (4W0164) BETWEEN 85 - 105 lbf.in (10,0 - 12,0 Nm).

NOTE: PLATE CAN BE OBTAINED FROM POWERPLANT ENGINEERING.

NOTE: DELIVER OLD PLATE TO POWERPLANT ENGINEERING.
