The programme will start with ALGO-RHYTHM 2K15 during Oct. 31 - Nov. 01, 2015 organised by the Information Technol- ogy (IT) Department of the Institute. Apart from the experts' talks various events like English Quiz, Debate (Hindi/English), Poster Competition, AD- MAD show and societal activities like #clean# Green SATI are on the agenda. On Nov. 01, Fe- licitation Ceremony of the Golden Jubilee Batch of the Institute will take place. The 'super seniors' are expected to share their wisdom & life time experiences with the staff & students. A cultural programme is also proposed at the end of the af- ternoon session. A one-day workshop on 'Recent Trends in Construction Industry' will be organized by the Civil Engineering Department in which Prof. John D.L. Daniels, The University of North Caro- lina, USA will be the Key-note Speaker and Er. Rakesh Markhedkar, Vice Chairman, Confedera- tion of Indian Industry, New Delhi, the Chief Guest. Many eminent personalities of Civil Engineering are expected to participate in this programme. Floral Tributes to Shrimant Madhav Rao Scindia A Bhajan Sandhya was organised on Sept. 30, 2015 in the Polytechnic Seminar Hall of the Insti- tute to pay tribute to the former Chairman Shrimant Madhav Rao Scindia on his 14 th death anniver- sary. On this occasion merit awards were given away to the meritorious students and financial as- sistance in the form of Scholarships to needy stu- dents of the Institute. For the first time, all the art- ists in the team of Bhajan Sandhya were from the Institute only. Mr. Govind Saxena Bureau Chief, Patrika, Vidisha, the Chief Guest of the programme spoke at length about the contribution of Maha- raja Madhav Rao at the national level in general and for SATI in particular. Dr. Padam Jain presided over the function. The programme started with a heartful song dedicated to late Maharaja by the Managing Committee Member Advocate Ram Mohan Sinha. In the morning too floral tributes were paid to Shrimant Madhav Maharaja by the members of Managing Committee, staff & stu- dents. Eighty Eight selected in TCS A total number of 88 students of the Institute got selected in the final round of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Congratulations. SPIC MACAY Chapter Re-opens A long defunct SATI Chapter of SPIC MACAY (So- ciety for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) has been restarted on 17 Sept., 2015 with a marvelous performance by the Sufi Singers Padmshri Bharati Bandhu. Event Hackath_n organizedSecond BE students (All Branches) underMentorship of Prof. Ajay Kumar Goyal, AssistantProfessor Information Technology orgainsed anevent Hackath_n on 17th October, 2015 10:00 am.Participants were allowed to bring the code readyunassembled bot, which was to be assembled ingiven time. 33 teams, each having 5 participantswere registered. Each team had a leader, coder,electronics man, designer and helper. The first 3hrs were given for bot assembling and to trouble-

shoot doubts. Our coordinators were thoroughlyhelping in doubt resolving session.Three tracks including a rough trial track weredesigned to check efficient coding, chassis design-ing, and various parameters of the bot. All thetracks were unrevealed, intentionally to check thedecision making capacity and workability in ex-treme pressure of participants. The next 3 hourswere competition hours. First, "The Qual round" allows best coded bot toqualify. Second, "The Finale" is the final roundwhich judges the chassis design and parameters

like ground clearance, wheelselectivity etc. The markingwas done on; Team leader-ship, coding, electronics cir-cuiting, chassis design, effi-ciency and time.

tition was organized for Govt. School Children.Bastas were distributed for the winners.Manoeuvre -A pick and place Robot competition was success-fully organized by DRIFT under the banner ofRoboInc at VVNCC Garden on 3rd October. AllRobots were adorable and amazed the audienceadding flavors of fun.

Golden Jubilee Batch will be felicitatedOn its foundation day the Institute will felicitate its eldest 'Children' (alumni of first batch) who passedout in year 1965. It has been proposed to make it a tradition to felicitate the Golden Jubilee Batch onevery first November from this year onwards. The 'super seniors' will be the Chief Guests of the variousstudents' programme and give away them the prizes. It definitely is bound to be a very memorableevent and going to be part of the Institute history.
