Enfrentado al Mediterráneo, a los pies de la playa de la quetoma su nombre, el exclusivo recinto del Parador de ElSaler se erige como privilegiado mirador de esta zona levan-

tina. Construido en 1966, el edificio y su entorno han sido some-tidos a una amplia remodelación, tanto exterior como interior, enuna obra acometida íntegramente por Paradores, por un importetotal de 20 millones de euros. El equipo arquitectónico responsa-ble ha integrado el paisaje en el establecimiento, haciéndolo par-tícipe de la naturaleza circundante y ambientándolo con las dunasy el mar. Madera y piedra natural en paredes y suelo, líneas muysencillas, colores neutros y el mobiliario en roble y nogal han sidolos elementos decorativos que han configurado el proyecto.

Pero el protagonismo del nuevo parador lo tiene la luz, blancay asolada, gris a veces, incolora otras, en un entorno transpa-rente y radiante que recuerda las luces que inspiraron a Soro-lla. Aquellas que iluminaron sus primeros lienzos. La luz de lamañana que engalana los vestidos blancos de sus elegantesmadres, la del amanecer queempujaba a la mar a sus reciospescadores, la del atardecer queprotege el descanso de sus cam-pesinos. Dentro del parador, encualquiera de sus 65 habitacio-nes, incluidas dos suites, el hués-ped sentirá la exaltación del sen-tido de la vista que en El Saler esun don que se regala a todos susmoradores. Por momentos no deseará sino permanecer inmó-vil, con el ánimo relajado, frente al Mediterráneo, apoyado enla baranda de la terraza del restaurante L’Embarcador o sen-tado en el comedor de desayunos L’Albufera, dejándose llevarpor el arrebato lumínico.

tine area. Built in 1966, the building and its surrounding areahave undergone extensive interior and exterior remodelling.The 20 million euro project was carried out exclusively byParadores. The team of architects in charge integrated thelandscape in the establishment making it a part of the surroun-ding scenery and blending it in with the dunes and the sea.Wood and natural stone for the walls and the floor, walnutand oak wood furniture, very simple lines and neutral coloursand are the decorative elements that made up the project.

However, light is the true protagonist in the new Parador; whiteand luminous, grey at times, colourless others, in a transpa-rent and radiant atmosphere reminiscent of the lights that in-spired Sorolla, especially those that inspired his first paintings:the morning light that adorned the white dresses of the ele-

gant mothers he painted, of thedawn that pushed his rugged fis-hermen out to sea, of the after-noon that protected his sleepingfarmers. Inside the Parador, inany of its 65 rooms, includingtwo suites, guests will feel theexaltation of the sense of sightthat is a gift given to all thosethat sleep within its walls. They

will want to stand motionless, feeling relaxed, facing the Medi-terranean Sea, while leaning on the railing of the terrace atthe L’Embarcador restaurant or seated at the L’Albufera bre-akfast room, letting oneself go, enraptured by the light.

At its feet lies a five-kilometre-long wild beach that invites youto come out for a walk. Its fine sand, its sheltering dunes –cha-racteristic of the Albufera Natural Park– and the warm andplacid sea will let you enjoy the verdant smell of its Aleppopine trees. When the sun sets, guests cangaze at the vault of heaven on asummer’s night or the shimme-ring Milky Way casting its dazz-ling glow on the pine groves andnetwork of dunes that protect the

beach of the Albufera, or the moon drawing metal leaves onthe surface of a calm sea. The loudest sound will be the rum-bling of waves fighting the pebbles on the beach. Nothing willmove faster than the wake of the fishing boats with the deepblue sea as a backdrop. Then you will know that the forces thatbrought you to this magical place are the same that lead youto the best things in life, to what one truly desires.

Para reponer fuerzas, de nuevo en el parador, nada mejor que untiempo de descanso y relax en el spa Sensaciones de la Devesa, unespacio de más de 500 m2 con sauna, piscina, jacuzzi, cabinas... Odescubrir los encantos gastronómicos que la huerta valenciana dis-pensa a sus agradecidos admirado-res: sus paellas y sus vinos harán,por momentos, del sentido delgusto el gusto más sentido.

Al anochecer, en la habitación, elhuésped contemplará la bóvedaceleste de las noches de verano oel resplandor de la Vía Láctea que,proyectada sobre la Albufera, des-lumbrará los pinares y mallares de las dunas que protegen el are-nal, o la Luna que dibujará sobre el mar calmado sus hojas demetal. No habrá un sonido más alto que el rumor de las olas alpelear con los guijarros de la playa, nada más veloz que la esteladel barco pesquero en el escenario profundo del mar. Entoncessabrá que la fuerza que le ha llevado a este mágico lugar es lamisma que lleva a lo mejor de la vida, a lo que realmente se desea.

El parador dispone de dos suites. metres of land surrounding the Parador which underwent aconsiderable landscaping treatment. These are but a few of themany improvements that have been made: the sand dune systemwas recovered, endemic species were replanted, access roads

were improved and the golf courseand parking lot were integratedinto the landscape of the park.

At El Saler, the colours you seedon’t fool you, what you see istrue, there are no lights to distorttheir reality, or any cardboardthat hides it, only lights for thesoul; there are no distracting noi-

ses, only the soothing chirping of birds. There is no time forneglect, only time to dream. Very nearby, golf lovers can enjoythe facilities that are available at El Saler Golf Club. Locatedby the sea, it is considered to be one of the most prestigiousclubs in the European circuit. Beyond lies the neighbouringcity of Valencia, just 16 kilometres away, patiently waiting toshow you its fabulous City of Arts and Science.
