Stations of the Cross in the Nave, Fridays in LentJoin us for Stations of the Cross today at 5:00 p.m., followed by a time of fellowship and good conversation. Stations of the Cross is a brief service of prayer and meditation that dates back to the Middle Ages. Pilgrims would journey to Jerusalem to retrace the route that Jesus made. The important events on this route became known as "stations." The stations at Grace-St. Luke's are marked by beautiful stone carvings which are set around the walls of the nave.

Tenebrae with the Memphis Boy Choir and Memphis Chamber ChoirMark your calendars for this beautiful service to be held at Saint John's Episcopal Church, 3245 Central Ave., on Wednesday, Apr. 16, at 7 p.m.The service of Tenebrae during Holy Week combines scripture and music for Passiontide as we prepare for the Easter Triduum. The contemplative worship service features unaccompanied choral music by Healey Willan, Tomas Luis de Victoria, Carlo Gesualdo, Eleanor Daley, Anton Bruckner and Richard Farrant. As the service progresses candles are extinguished following readings and music. The effect of these elements of the service is stunning as the church embraces the darkness of the season. The Memphis Boychoir currently has 16 members between the ages of 7 and 12. The Memphis Chamber Choir is an auditioned SATB ensemble with 20 members. For more info contact Geoffrey Ward, 323-8597, or visit memphisboychoir.org.
