Risk ManagementWe are experienced in the identification, definition, quantification and control of risks and appreciate that risk management is not restricted to the early stages of a project, rather that it is an ongoing process over the lifetime of a project.
We manage risk and, should an event occur, we will assess the consequential cost, programme and procedural impacts.
Contract ManagementWe understand that it is essential to a project’s success for costs to be pro-actively managed and controlled from concept through to completion, so that a “no shock” financial conclusion is delivered. Advice can be given on how to maximise returns on low margin projects.
Pro-active contract and commercial protection are put in place alongside practical controls and changes evaluated for time and cost impacts. Services provided include:

Planning and SchedulingOur strong team of planners is backed up by contractual and legal experts familiar with preparing programmes at all stages of a project – from bid, to on-site progress to retrospective forensic for use in disputes.
We do not simply plan a project. We bring new ideas, fresh thinking and solutions to problems whilst looking for opportunities to reduce time periods and de-risk through what-if scenarios. Services include:
Tender, contract and / or baseline programmeResource and cost loading of programmesConstruction solutions and phasing to reduce project durationProgramme risk identification and comparison of mitigation methodsProgress monitoring, reporting and auditsInterface co-ordinationTime impacts arising from changeRecovery and accelerated programmesEarned value and other project benchmarking measures
Claims ManagementSystech has a global reputation as a leading claims consultant on major projects and clients can be confident that we have the professionalism and expertise to look after their interests. We are able to rapidly deploy teams of contract, contract management and planning/scheduling specialists. We implement robust front to end contracting strategies that are flowed down within the delivery team and ensure that proper cost and programme baselines are established, with any subsequent changes recorded and evaluated.

Hydropower experience
Adelaide Desalination Plant, Australia
The power sector demands highly specialist skills since projects are o(en carried out under difficult conditions, in remote and challenging locations, under extremely tight deadlines and highly onerous contract conditions.
Contractors regularly inherit significant cost and time risks, and the penalties for failing to achieve the ultimate completion obligation can be substantial. Good contract, commercial and schedule management by people with relevant expertise is therefore essential and you can rely on Systech to provide this.

Alternative Energy experience
Newhaven Energy Recovery Facility, UK
The alternative energy market offers exciting opportunities and we have been involved in a range of diverse projects – waste to energy, bio fuel, energy recovery and wind-farms [onshore and offshore]. This sector includes a number of organisations who are unfamiliar with the construction environment and we have supported them with the contractual arrangements as well as the ongoing project administration.

Onshore Oil & Gas experience
Bu Hasa Pipeline, UAE
Contractors in the oil and gas sector regularly inherit significant cost and time risks, and the penalties for failing to achieve the ultimate completion obligation (for example sail-away or first gas / oil) can be substantial. Good contract, commercial and schedule management by people with relevant expertise is therefore essential and you can rely on Systech to provide this.
At Systech, we also understand balance – while quality and safety can never be compromised, there is always a balance between cost and time and it is not always possible to optimise both. We therefore adopt a questioning attitude with our clients to ensure that we fully understand their needs and priorities so that we can offer solutions which meet their requirements.

Offshore Oil & Gas experience
Self-Elevating Drilling Platform, Brazil
A key consideration in the oil and gas industry is to recognise that contractors do not provide an end product; they provide a temporary facility to allow the extraction of the end product. A rig which takes 2/3 years to build will typically produce for 15/20 years and therefore it has a limited lifetime. It is consequently essential that the rig is fabricated and comes on-line as quickly and cost effectively as possible and Systech is familiar with the rigorous decision making process which this entails.
