Out To LunchThis month we will go out to La Cantera to the Café’ Bistro

in Nordstrom’s.  Located on the 2nd floor, this charming establishment features “American café’” type food.  We will go on Thursday the 27th at 11:30.  Carpooling will be available.  Call Janet by Monday the 24th if you plan to go.

In December seventeen Encino Park ladies thoroughly enjoyed the cuisine of Zoe’s Kitchen, located at   Basse and Broadway, next to the HEB.  The fresh soups, salads, and sandwiches and casual atmosphere made this a wonderfully relaxing get-together amid all the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle. With such a nice large group  we had a great time visiting with each other and were very grateful for the attentiveness given to our group by the manager.  This is a great place to check out if you are in that part of town.  We especially enjoyed that our friend Kathy Matulis was able to join us as this restaurant is   near her new job location, and she, in fact, is who recommended it. I definitely plan to eat there again!

Please join us on our outings.  We have a great time!

WOMEN’S CLUBThe February meeting of the Encino Park Women’s Club

will be a special Valentine’s Dinner out! We will meet at Little Italy on Monday, February 10th at 7:00. Look for an e-vite for details.

The Encino Park Women’s Club meets every month on the second Monday at 7:00 at the Community Center. For more information, contact our club President, Elice Palmer [email protected] or 210-497-7642.

OVER 50 CLUB by Dyan Montesclaros

Last month was our administrative session. We re-elected our Chair, me, switched our Vice Chair, Barbara, to be our Treasurer and our Treasurer, Francia, is now our Vice Chair. We kept our reminder callers, Irene and Dalia the same for this year. Jan will be our new birthday rep; she makes sure all our members are acknowledged on their special day, something Irene was doing for us this past year. Jan will also take on the role of Club Reporter, the person who writes the newsletter article about us like I’ve been doing.

I took over from Jan so you might be familiar with her work. In case you are not, let me forewarn you now: it’s possible that whatever she writes in the newsletter may not be 100 percent true. The only way to really know what’s true and what’s not is to come to our meeting and get to know us and what we do together – then and only then will you know for sure that what she’s written is true at all or even a little bit.

Last month we also planned some activities including our pot luck dates for the first half of the year. We talked about possible day trips to Gruene, Fredericksburg or Boerne. We’ve been talking about visiting these cities for some time and we are hoping that this spring will be the perfect weather for such trips. As the year progresses, we will keep open to other possible outings.

Well, you have a standing invitation to join us the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Community Center at 11:30 a.m. Call me at 481-7890 or email me at [email protected] for more information.
