Life before PIM
Delivering product information to multiple channels/markets/brands
etc. cannot be done efficiently if the information is updated
separately in every system and document where it is used. This
leads to high cost, long time-to-market, quality issues and
inconsistency across channels.
It inevitably leads to “content forking” or what we call “Content
spaghetti”. All this duplicated information makes the enrichment
process hard to control and monitor, workload increases and quality
suffers. It also makes it hard to automate tasks like file format
conversion and updating the information in the channeling system.
