1. SAFETY INFORMATIONBefore the installation and use of the appliance,carefully read the supplied instructions. Themanufacturer is not responsible if an incorrectinstallation and use causes injuries and damages. Alwayskeep the instructions with the appliance for futurereference.

1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8

years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been given supervision orinstruction concerning use of the appliance in a safeway and understand the hazards involved.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by

children without supervision.• Keep all packaging away from children.

1.2 General Safety• This appliance is intended to be used in household

and similar applications such as:– Farm houses; staff kitchen areas in shops, offices

and other working environments– By clients in hotels, motels, bed and breakfast and

other residential type environments• Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure

or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.• Do not use mechanical devices or other means to

accelerate the defrosting process, other than thoserecommended by the manufacturer.

• Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.• Do not use electrical appliances inside the food

storage compartments of the appliance, unless theyare of the type recommended by the manufacturer.

• Do not use water spray and steam to clean theappliance.

• Clean the appliance with a moist soft cloth. Only useneutral detergents. Do not use abrasive products,abrasive cleaning pads, solvents or metal objects.

• Do not store explosive substances such as aerosolcans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced bythe manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre orsimilarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

2.1 Installation

WARNING!Only a qualified person mustinstall this appliance.

• Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damaged

appliance.• Obey the installation instruction

supplied with the appliance.• Always be careful when you move the

appliance because it is heavy. Alwayswear safety gloves.

• Make sure the air can circulate aroundthe appliance.

• Wait at least 4 hours beforeconnecting the appliance to thepower supply. This is to allow the oilto flow back in the compressor.

• Do not install the appliance close toradiators or cookers, oven or hobs.

• The rear of the appliance must standagainst the wall.

• Do not install the appliance wherethere is direct sunlight.

• Do not install this appliance in areasthat are too humid or too colds, suchas the construction appendices,garages or wine cellars.

• When you move the appliance, lift itby the front edge to avoid scratchingthe floor.

2.2 Electrical connection

WARNING!Risk of fire and electricalshock.

• The appliance must be earthed.• Make sure that the electrical

information on the rating plate agreeswith the power supply. If not, contactan electrician.

• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe electrical components (e.g. mainsplug, mains cable, compressor).Contact the Authorised ServiceCentre or an electrician to change theelectrical components.

• The mains cable must stay below thelevel of the mains plug.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of theinstallation. Make sure that there isaccess to the mains plug after theinstallation.

• Do not pull the mains cable todisconnect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.

• Do not change the specification ofthis appliance.

• Do not put electrical appliances (e.g.ice cream makers) in the applianceunless they are stated applicable bythe manufacturer.

• Be careful not to cause damage tothe refrigerant circuit. It containsisobutane (R600a), a natural gas with ahigh level of environmentalcompatibility. This gas is flammable.

• If damage occurs to the refrigerantcircuit, make sure that there are noflames and sources of ignition in theroom. Ventilate the room.

• Do not let hot items to touch theplastic parts of the appliance.

• Do not store flammable gas andliquid in the appliance.

• Do not put flammable products oritems that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.

• Do not touch the compressor or thecondenser. They are hot.

2.4 Care and cleaning

WARNING!Risk of injury or damage tothe appliance.

• Before maintenance, deactivate theappliance and disconnect the mainsplug from the mains socket.

• This appliance contains hydrocarbonsin the cooling unit. Only a qualifiedperson must do the maintenance andthe recharging of the unit.

• Regularly examine the drain of theappliance and if necessary, clean it. Ifthe drain is blocked, defrosted watercollects in the bottom of theappliance.

2.5 Disposal

WARNING!Risk of injury or suffocation.

• Disconnect the appliance from themains supply.

• Cut off the mains cable and discard it.• Remove the door to prevent children

and pets to be closed inside of theappliance.

• The refrigerant circuit and theinsulation materials of this applianceare ozone-friendly.

• The insulation foam containsflammable gas. Contact yourmunicipal authority for information onhow to discard the appliancecorrectly.

• Do not cause damage to the part ofthe cooling unit that is near the heatexchanger.

It is possible to change predefinedsound of buttons to a loudly one bypressing together Mode and

3.3 Switching on1. Connect the mains plug to the power

socket.2. Press the appliance ON/OFF if the

display is off.The temperature indicators show the setdefault temperature.To select a different set temperaturerefer to "Temperature regulation".

If "dEMo" appears on the display, referto "Troubleshooting" chapter.

3.4 Switching off1. Press the appliance ON/OFF button

for 5 seconds.The display switches off.2. Disconnect the mains plug from the

power socket.

3.5 Temperature regulationSet the temperature of the appliance bypressing the temperature regulator. Default set temperature:

• +5°C for the fridge.The temperature indicators show the settemperature.

The set temperature will bereached within 24 hours.After a power failure the settemperature remains stored.

3.6 Door open alarmAn acoustic alarm will sound if the dooris left open for a few minutes. The dooropen alarm conditions are indicated by:

• a flashing Alarm indicator;• an acoustic buzzer.When normal conditions are restored(door closed), the alarm will stop. Thebuzzer can also be switched off bypressing any button.

3.7 COOLMATIC functionIf you need to insert a large amount ofwarm food, for example after doing thegrocery shopping, we suggest activatingthe COOLMATIC function to chill theproducts more rapidly and to avoidwarming the other food which is alreadyin the refrigerator.

1. Press the Mode until thecorresponding icon appears.

The COOLMATIC indicator flashes.2. Press the OK to confirm.The COOLMATIC indicator is shown.The COOLMATIC function shuts offautomatically after approximately 6hours.

To switch off the function before itsautomatic end, repeat the procedure.

The function switches off byselecting a different fridgeset temperature.

3.8 Holiday functionThis function allows you to keep theappliance closed and empty during along holiday period without theformation of bad odours.

1. Press the Mode until thecorresponding icon appears.

The Holiday indicator flashes. Thetemperature indicator shows the settemperature.2. Press the OK to confirm.The Holiday indicator is shown.

The function switches off byselecting a different settemperature.

3.9 ChildLock functionActivate the ChildLock function to lockthe buttons from unintentionaloperation.

1. Press Mode until the correspondingicon appears.

The ChildLock indicator flashes.2. Press OK to confirm.The ChildLock indicator is shown.To deactivate the ChildLock function,repeat the procedure until the ChildLockindicator goes off.

3.10 MinuteMinder functionThe MinuteMinder function is to be usedto set an acoustic alarm at the preferredtime, useful for example when a reciperequires to cool down food products fora certain period of time.

1. Press Mode until the correspondingicon appears.

The MinuteMinder indicator flashes.

The Timer shows the set value (30minutes) for a few seconds.2. Press the Timer regulator to change

the Timer set value from 1 to 90minutes.

3. Press OK to confirm.TheMinuteMinder indicator is shown.The Timer start to flash (min).At the end of the countdown theMinuteMinder indicator flashes and anaudible alarm sounds. Press OK to switchoff the sound and terminate the function.

To switch off the function repeat theprocedure until the MinuteMinder goesoff.

It is possible to change thetime at any time during thecountdown and at the endby pressing the Temperaturecolder button and theTemperature warmer button.

3.11 DYNAMICAIR function1. Press Mode until the corresponding

icon appears.The DYNAMICAIR indicator flashes.2. Press the OK to confirm.The DYNAMICAIR indicator appears.

The activation of theDYNAMICAIR functionincreases energyconsumption.If the function is activatedautomatically theDYNAMICAIR indicator isnot shown (refer to "Dailyuse").

To switch off the function, repeat theprocedure until the DYNAMICAIRindicator goes off.

4. FIRST USE

4.1 Cleaning the interiorBefore using the appliance for the firsttime, the interior and all internalaccessories should be washed withlukewarm water and some neutral soapto remove the typical smell of a brand-new product, then dried thoroughly.

CAUTION!Do not use detergents orabrasive powders, as thesewill damage the finish.

5. DAILY USE

5.1 Positioning the doorshelvesTo permit storage of food packages ofvarious sizes, the door shelves can beplaced at different heights.

1. Gradually pull the shelf in thedirection of the arrows until it comesfree.

2. Reposition as required.

5.2 Movable shelvesThe walls of the refrigerator areequipped with a series of runners so thatthe shelves can be positioned as desired.

Do not move the glass shelfabove the vegetable drawerand the bottle shelf toensure correct air circulation.

5.3 DYNAMICAIRThe refrigerator compartment isequipped with a device that allows forrapid cooling of foods and more uniformtemperature in the compartment.

This device activates by itself whenneeded, for example for a quicktemperature recovering after dooropening or when the ambienttemperature is high.

It is possible to switch on the devicemanually when needed (refer to"DYNAMICAIR function").

The DYNAMICAIR devicestops when the door is openand restarts immediatelyafter the door closing.

6. HINTS AND TIPS

6.1 Normal operating soundsThe following sounds are normal duringoperation:

• A faint gurgling and bubbling soundfrom coils sound when refrigerant ispumped.

• A whirring and pulsating sound fromthe compressor when refrigerant ispumped.

• A sudden cracking noise from insideappliance caused by thermicdilatation (a natural and notdangerous physical phenomenon).

• A faint click noise from thetemperature regulator when thecompressor switches on or off.

6.2 Hints for energy saving• Do not open the door frequently or

leave it open longer than absolutelynecessary.

6.3 Hints for fresh foodrefrigerationTo obtain the best performance:

• do not store warm food orevaporating liquids in the refrigerator

• do cover or wrap the food, particularlyif it has a strong flavour

• position food so that air can circulatefreely around it

6.4 Hints for refrigerationUseful hints:

• Meat (all types) : wrap in polythenebags and place on the glass shelfabove the vegetable drawer.

• For safety, store in this way only oneor two days at the most.

• Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc. :these should be covered and may beplaced on any shelf.

• Fruit and vegetables: these should bethoroughly cleaned and placed in thespecial drawer(s) provided.

• Butter and cheese: these should beplaced in special airtight containers orwrapped in aluminium foil orpolythene bags to exclude as muchair as possible.

• Bottles: these need a cap and shouldbe stored on the door bottle shelf, or(if equipped) on the bottle rack.

• Bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic,if not packed, must not be kept in therefrigerator.

7. CARE AND CLEANING

7.1 General warnings

CAUTION!Unplug the appliance beforecarrying out anymaintenance operation.

This appliance containshydrocarbons in its coolingunit; maintenance andrecharging must thereforeonly be carried out byauthorized technicians.

The accessories and parts ofthe appliance are notsuitable for washing in adishwasher.

7.2 Periodic cleaning

CAUTION!Do not pull, move ordamage any pipes and/orcables inside the cabinet.

CAUTION!Take care of not to damagethe cooling system.

CAUTION!When moving the cabinet,lift it by the front edge toavoid scratching the floor.

The equipment has to be cleanedregularly:

1. Clean the inside and accessories withlukewarm water and some neutralsoap.

2. Regularly check the door seals andwipe clean to ensure they are cleanand free from debris.

3. Rinse and dry thoroughly.4. If accessible, clean the condenser

and the compressor at the back ofthe appliance with a brush. This operation will improve theperformance of the appliance andsave electricity consumption.

7.3 Defrosting of therefrigeratorFrost is automatically eliminated from theevaporator of the refrigeratorcompartment every time the motorcompressor stops, during normal use.The defrost water drains out through atrough into a special container at theback of the appliance, over the motorcompressor, where it evaporates.

It is important to periodically clean thedefrost water drain hole in the middle of

the refrigerator compartment channel toprevent the water overflowing anddripping onto the food inside.

7.4 Periods of non-operationWhen the appliance is not in use for longperiods, take the following precautions:

1. Disconnect the appliance fromelectricity supply.

2. Remove all food.3. Clean the appliance and all

accessories.4. Leave the door/doors open to

prevent unpleasant smells.

WARNING!If the cabinet will be kept on,ask somebody to check itonce in a while to preventthe food inside from spoilingin case of a power failure.

9.1 PositioningThis appliance can be installed in a dry,well ventilated indoor where the ambienttemperature corresponds to the climateclass indicated on the rating plate of theappliance:

9.2 Electrical Connection

CAUTION!Any electrical work requiredto install this applianceshould be carried out by aqualified electrician orcompetent person.

2. Connect the wire coloured blue tothe terminal either marked with theletter “N“ or coloured black.

3. Connect the wire coloured brown tothe terminal either marked with the“L“ or coloured red.

4. Check that no cut, or stray strands ofwire is present and the cord clamp(E) is secure over the outer sheath. Make sure the electricity supplyvoltage is the same as that indicatedon the appliance rating plate.

5. Switch on the appliance.The appliance is supplied with a 13 ampfuse (B). In the event of having to changethe fuse in the plug supplied, a 13 ampASTA approved (BS 1362) fuse must beused.

WARNING!A cut off plug inserted into a13 amp socket is a serioussafety (shock) hazard. Ensurethat it is disposed of safely.

9.3 Ventilation requirementsThe airflow behind the appliance mustbe sufficient.
