WARRANTYTERMS AND CONDITIONS
InthiswarrantyGreatPlainsUKLtd.,isreferredtoas“theCompany”.
1. SubjecttotheprovisionsofthiswarrantytheCompanywarrantseachnewmachinesoldbyittobesoldfreefromanydefectinmaterialorworkmanshipforaperiodof12monthsfromdateofinstallationwiththeend-user.
Somespecificitemshaveadditionalwarrantyoverandabovethestandard12months.DetailsofthesecanbeobtaineduponrequestdirectlyfromthedistributororGreatPlainsUKLtd.
2. IfthemachineorpartthereofsuppliedbytheCompanyisnotinaccordancewiththewarrantygiveninclause1theCompanywillatitsoption:
(a) makegoodthemachineorpartthereofattheCompany’sexpense,or(b) makeanallowancetothepurchaseragainstthepurchasepriceofthemachineorpart
thereof,or(c) acceptthereturnofthemachineandatthebuyersoptioneither: I) repayorallowthebuyertheinvoicepriceofthemachineorpartthereof,or II) replacethemachineorpartthereofasisreasonablypractical.
3. ThiswarrantyshallnotobligetheCompanytomakeanypaymentinrespectoflossofprofitorotherconsequentiallossorcontingentliabilityofthePurchaserallegedtoarisefromanydefectinthemachineorimposeanyliabilityontheCompanyotherthanthatcontainedinclause2.
4. AnyclaimunderthiswarrantymustbenotifiedtotheCompanyinwritingspecifyingthematterscomplainedofwithin14daysfromthedateofrepair.
5. Anyclaimunderthiswarrantymustbemadebytheoriginalpurchaserofthemachineandisnotassignabletoanythirdparty.
6. IfthepurchaserhiresoutthemachinetoanythirdpartythewarrantyshallapplyonlytomattersnotifiedtotheCompanyinwritingwithin90daysofthedateofdeliveryandclause1shallbereadasiftheperiodof90daysweresubstitutedfortheperiodof12months.
7. Thewarrantywillceasetoapplyif:
(a) anypartsnotmade,suppliedorapprovedinwritingbytheCompanyarefittedtothemachineor(b) anyrepairiscarriedouttothemachineotherthanbyorwiththeexpresswrittenapprovalofthe
Companyor(c) anyalterationsnotexpresslyauthorizedbytheCompanyinwritingaremadetothemachineor(d) themachineisdamagedbyaccidentor(e) themachineisabusedoroverloadedorusedforapurposeorloadbeyonditsdesigncapabilities,
orusedinconjunctionwithatractorwhosepoweroutputcapabilityexceedsthestatedimplementpowerrequirementbymorethan40%.Forthepurposeofthesetermsandconditions,“statedimplementpowerrequirement”referstowheeledtractorsunlessspecificallystated.Thesepowerrequirementsshouldbereducedby20%whenusedinconjunctionwithtrackedtractors.
(f) themachineisoperatedaspartofa‘cultivationtrain’wheremorethanoneimplementisbeingtowed,withouttheexpresswrittenapprovalofGreatPlainsUKLtd.
(g) anymaintenanceisnotcarriedout inaccordancewiththeserviceschedules intheoperator’smanual.
(h) the InstallationandWarrantyRegistrationCertificate isnot receivedbyGreatPlainsUKLtd.,ServiceDept.,WoodbridgeRoad,Sleaford,Lincolnshire,England,NG347EW,within7daysofinstallinganewmachine.

IntroductionForewordMake sure you have read and follow theOperating Instructions carefully beforeusing themachine. By doing so, youwillavoid accidents, reduce repair costs anddowntime and increase the reliability andservicelifeofyourmachine.Payattentiontothesafetyinstructions!
GreatPlainswillnotacceptanyresponsibilityfor any damage ormalfunctions resultingfrom failure to complywith theOperatingInstructions.
These Operating Instructions will assistyouingettingtoknowyourmachineandinusingitcorrectlyforitsintendedpurposes.First,youaregivengeneralinstructionsinhandling themachine.This is followedbysections on servicing, maintenance andtheactiontobetakenshouldamalfunctionoccur.
Theseoperatinginstructionsaretobereadandfollowedbyallpersonsworkingonorwiththemachine,e.g.:
• Operation (including preparation,remedying of faults in the operatingsequenceandservicing).
• Maintenance (maintenance andinspection)
• Transportation.
Together with the Operating Instructions,you receive a Spare Parts List and aMachine Registration form. Field servicetechnicianswillinstructyouintheoperationand servicing of yourmachine. Followingthis, the Machine Registration form is tobe returned to your dealer. This confirmsyour formal acceptance of the machine.Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedateofdelivery.
We reserve the right to alterillustrations as well as technicaldata and weights contained intheseOperatingInstructionsforthepurposeofimprovingthemachine.
Warranty GuidelinesTheperiodof liability formaterial defects(warranty) relating to our products is 12months. In thecaseofwrittendeviationsfrom the statutory provisions, theseagreementsshallapply.
They shall become effective uponinstallation of the machine with the endcustomer.Allwearpartsareexcludedfromthewarranty.
All warranty claimsmust be submitted toGreatPlainsviayourdealer.

1.0 Safety DataThe following warnings and safetyinstructions apply to all sections of theseOperatingInstructions.
1.1 Safety Symbols on the machine

Never reach into areaswherethereisadangerofbeing crushed by movingparts!
Watch out for escapingpressurised fluids! Followthe instructions in theOperatingInstructions!
Read and observe theOperating Instructionsbeforeusingthemachine!
Never reach into anyrevolvingparts!
Parts may fly off duringoperation. Keep a safedistance away from themachine!

Operating Instructions:
The Operating Instructions distinguishbetween three different types of warningand safety instructions. The followinggraphicsymbolsareused:

Itisimportantthatallthesafetyinstructionscontained in these Operating Instructionsandall thewarningsignson themachinearereadcarefully.
Ensurethat thewarningsignsare legible.Replace any signs that are missing ordamaged.
Theseinstructionsmustbefollowedinordertopreventaccidents.Informotherusersofthewarningsandsafetyinstructions.
Donotcarryoutanyoperationswhichmayaffectsafeuseofthemachine.
Allreferencestoleftandrightinthismanualare made from the rear of the machine,facing the direction of travel (unlessotherwisestated).

1.3 Operational SafetyThemachineistobeputinoperationonlyafter instructionhasbeenprovidedbyanemployee of the authorised dealer or anemployee of Great Plains. The “MachineRegistration” form is tobecompletedandreturnedtoyourdealer.
All protectiveandsafetyequipment, suchas removable protective equipment,mustbeinplaceandfunctioningreliablybeforethemachineisputinuse.
Checkscrewsandboltsregularlyfor tightness and retighten ifnecessary.
In the event of malfunctions,stop and secure the machineimmediately.
Ensure that any faults areremediedimmediately.
1.4 No Liability for Consequential DamageThe Simba DTX has been manufacturedbyGreatPlainswithgreatcare.However,problemsmaystilloccurwhenitisusedfortheintendedpurpose.Thesemayinclude:
•Wornwearingparts.•Damagecausedbyexternalfactors.•Incorrectdrivingspeeds.• Incorrect setting of the unit (incorrectattachment,non-adherence to theSettinginstructions).
Therefore, it is crucial toalways check your machinebefore and during operation forcorrect operation and adequateapplicationaccuracy.
Compensation claims for damage whichhas not occurred to the machine isexcluded.Thisincludesanyconsequentialdamageresultingfromincorrectoperation.
1.2 Use for the Intended Purpose TheGreatPlainsSimbaDTXisbuiltusingthe latest technology and in accordancewith the relevant recognised safetyregulations.However,risksofinjuryfortheoperatororthirdpartiesandimpairmentofthemachine or other tangible assets canariseduringuse.
Themachineisonlytobeoperatedwheninatechnicallyperfectconditionandfortheintendedpurpose,takingintoconsiderationsafety and risks and following theOperating Instructions. Inparticular, faultsthatcan impairsafetyare toberemediedimmediately.
OriginalpartsandaccessoriesfromGreatPlains have been specially designed forthismachine.Sparepartsandaccessoriesnot supplied by us have not been testedor authorised. Installation or use of non-original Great Plains products may havea detrimental effect on specific designfeatures of the machine and affect thesafety of machine operators and themachineitself.GreatPlainswillacceptnoliability fordamageresulting from theuseofnon-originalpartsoraccessories.
TheGreatPlainsSimbaDTX isdesignedsolelyasacultivation implement.Use forany other purpose, e.g., as a means oftransport, will be deemed to be improperuse.GreatPlainswillacceptnoliabilityfordamage resulting from improperuse.Theriskwillbebornesolelybytheoperator.
UseoftheSimbaDTXbehindhighpowertractors (in excess of 40% above themaximumrecommended)canleadtohighloadsandstresseswhichcancause longtermstructuraldamagetothechassisandkey components. Such overloading cancompromisesafetyandistobeavoided.

1.5 Road Traffic SafetyWhendrivingonpublic roads, tracksandareas,itisimportanttoobservetherelevantroad traffic laws as well as the specificregulationsrelatingtothismachine.
Payattentiontothepermittedaxleloads, tyre carrying capacity, andtotal weight in order to maintainadequatebrakingandsteerability.
Passengers on the machine arestrictlyforbidden!
Check that lights / indicators (ifapplicable) are working beforetransportingthemachine.
Max.roadtransportspeed16mph(25km/h).
Beware of trapping hazardswhen manipulating the parkingstands, steps or other movingparts. Ensure any heavycomponents are fully supportedwhenremovingpins/bolts.
1.6.1 Hitching-up the machineThere is a risk of injury when hitching/unhitching the machine. Observe thefollowing:
• Securethemachineagainstrolling.• Take special care when reversing the
tractor!• Thereisariskofbeingcrushedbetween
themachineandthetractor!• Parkthemachineonfirm,levelground.
1.6.2 Changing Equipment• Secure themachine toprevent it from
accidentallyrollingaway!• Use suitable supports to secure any
raisedframesectionssuspendedaboveyou!
• Caution!Riskofinjuryduetoprojectingparts!
Never climb on to rotating partssuchas the rollunit.Thesepartsmayrotatecausingyoutoslipandsufferseriousinjury!
Removing components duringmaintenance may affect thestability of the machine. Ensureit is fully supported in case ofunexpectedweightshifts.
1.SafetyData
1.6 Accident PreventionIn addition to the Operating Instructions,it is important to observe the accidentprevention regulations specified byagricultural trade associations. It is theOperator’sresponsibility toensurethatallotherpersonsareexcludedfromthedangerzones surrounding or on the machineduringitsoperation.
ItistheOwner’sresponsibilitytoensure:
• theOperator is trainedandcompetenttousethemachine&tractor,
• thetractorissuitableforthemachine• adequateRiskandCOSHHassessments
have been undertaken regarding themachine’s use. Specifically, theseinclude issuesconcerningcontactwiththesoil,dust,cropresidues,chemicals,lubricantsandothercompoundsduringoperation or maintenance, and thepossibility of stones being ejected athighspeedduringwork.

1.7 Servicing & MaintenanceEnsurethatregularchecksandinspectionsare always carried out within the periodsrequired by law or specified in theseOperatingInstructions.
Whencarryingoutserviceandmaintenanceworkalways:
• switchoffthetractorengineandremovetheignitionkey.
• wait until all the machine parts havestoppedmoving.
• depressurisethehydraulicsystem.
Many hydraulic circuits contain lock orovercentrevalveswhichcanretainpressurein the lines even after depressurising thetractor side of these circuits. If in doubt,consult trained personnel (such as yourlocalGreatPlainsDealer) toensuresuchvalves are depressurised to the correctprocedure before removing or servicinganypartsconnecteddownstreamofthesevalves.
Check all hydraulic lines for leaks, looseconnections, chafe marks and damage.Remedy any deficiencies immediately!Pay particular attention to hose renewalintervalsasoutlinedinthespecificsectionswhich follow.ALLhydraulic hoseshaveasafemaximumworkinglifeof6(SIX)yearsfrom date of installation, provided theyremain in a safe condition. Hoses whichexceed6yearsofageshouldbereplaced,or inspected and certified by a suitablyqualified person to have an extended lifeperiodwhichshouldberecorded.
Payparticularattentiontothoseitemswhichrequirespecialistservicetoolsortrainingtobe carried out by qualified personnel. Donotattempttoservicetheseitemsyourself!These include items retaining pressure(e.g. accumulator circuits), or force (e.g.springtines),andDDaxlesofanytype.

2.0 Transportation and InstallationTransportationandinitialinstallationofthemachinearedescribedinthischapter.
2.1 DeliveryThe machine is normally delivered fullyassembled.
• The machine can be lifted off with acraneorothersuitableliftingequipment.
• The machine should be hitched to atractoranddrivenoffalow-loader.
2.2 TransportationThe Simba DTX can be transported onpublicroadsbyhitchingituptoatractororonalow-loader.
• Itisimportanttoobservethepermitteddimensions and weights whentransportingthemachine.
• Ifthemachineistransportedonatraileror a low-loader, it must be securedusingstrapsorotherdevices.
• Before transporting the machine onpublic roads, it must be adjustedto its transportation position andthe stipulations relating to roadtransportationfulfilled.
• The maximum permissible speed is25km/h.
On machines fitted with aTurboJetseederunitthehoppershould be emptied before roadtransport.
2.Transportation/Installation
2.3 InstallationWhen carrying out installation andmaintenanceworkthereisahigherriskofinjury. It is important that you familiariseyourself with the machine and read theOperatingInstructionsbeforehand.
Operatorinstructionandinitialinstallationofthemachinearecarriedoutbyourservicetechniciansorauthoriseddistributors.
Themachinemustnotbeusedinanywaybeforehand! The machine can only bereleased for operation after instructionshave been provided by our servicetechniciansorauthoriseddistributors.
• If any modules or parts have beenremovedfortransportation,theseshallbemountedbyourservicetechnicians/authoriseddealersbeforetheinstructiontakesplace.
• Checkallimportantscrewconnections!• Lubricateallnipplesandjoints!• Check all hydraulic connections and
linesfordamage.

2.4 Hitching Up / Preparing for Transport
When hitching-up the machine,ensure that no-one is betweenthetractorandthemachine.
1. Connect the tractor to the machineusingthehydraulicstoraiseorlowerthetheheightofthetractorlowerlinkarms.
2. Whenthelowerlinkarmsarealignedfit the lower link pins and the lynchpins.
3. Fit the tractor toplink between thetractorandthemachine.
4. Raise themachine using the tractorlinkarms.

2.Transportation/Installation
2.5 When driving on the roadWhendrivingontheroadthemachinemustbeconvertedtothetransportationposition.
Whendrivingon the road, raisethe machine completely toprevent the working elementsdraggingontheground.
Ensurethatthetractorrearlightsare visible from behind duringtransport.
2.6 Parking the machineIn order to avoid damage as a result ofmoisture,themachineshouldbeparked,ifpossible,indoorsorundercover.
When manoeuvring themachine, pay attention to yoursurroundings. Ensure thatnobody is in the manoeuvringarea(watchforchildren!).
Park themachineon levelandsolidground.
Lower themachineonto theparkingstands/tinesensuringthatitisstable.
Removethetoplinkandlowerthelinkarmssothatpinscanberemoved.
Switchoffthetractor.

The Great Plains Simba DTX is anamalgamation of time proven, successfulGreat Plains designed componentsbrought together to form this importantdevelopment.TheSimbaDTXprovidesaonepassmixwithafissuredlayeratdiscdepthforthroughdrainageandrootaccessto lower horizons. This enables rapiddrainage and access after rain, creatinga greater effective capacity for moisturecompared to ploughing for the sameeffectivetotaldepthofcultivation.
In principle, the machine is a subsoilerfollowedbyanoffsetdiscdesignedforlowdraft,highspeedoperations.Theadditionof a rear mounted roll enables effectivecultivation in one pass. The key to theSimbaDTX’ssuccessarethetineswhichmaintain shatter across the full width ofcultivation. This is followed by the discsthatcultivatethesoilsurfaceandminimiseand clod formation. Finally, the rear rollconsolidatesthesurface,cracksanyclodsandfirmsthesoilprofileafterthereardiscscompletemixingtodepth. Thisstarts the‘top down’ cultivation process, retainingweatheredtilthinthesurfacelevelforstaleseedbed purposes. The corrugated topandshattered lowerhorizonsare left fullyweatherproof to any conditions betweencultivation and drilling whilst retainingmoisturebelowthesurfaceforrapidstrawbreakdownandoptimumestablishmentofthenextcrop.

4.2 3 Point LinkageThe Simba DTX is fitted with a standardCategory 3 linkage at the front of themachine.
4.3 TinesTheSimbaDTXisfittedwitheitherPro-Liftor LD (LowDisturbance) tines. The tinesare arranged in a staggered formationto give lower draft requirements and theability toworkprogressivelydeeper. Thetinesarespacedat400mm. Each tine isshearboltprotected.Tinedepthisachievedby moving the tines up and down in theadjustableclamps.
Differentwingsareavailabletosuitthesoilconditions andoptimise theperformanceofthemachine.

4.7 Work SettingsOptimumperformancehasbeen found tobeachievedwhen theDD roll ringshaveworn away the painted finish leaving asmoothshinysurface.WhentheDDringsareneworrusty,soilmaytendtopickuponthesurfaceandblockagemayoccur, thiswillreducewhentheringsareshinyagain.
The Simba DTX should be run with thechassisleveltoslightlytaillow.InpracticeitispossibletousetheSimbaDTXongroundconditions that are unsuitable to achievethedesiredeffect,anditisusuallypossibleto operate the DD roll without regularblockageundersuchunsuitableconditions,assumingthattherollassembliesaretight,the scrapers correctly adjusted and ringssmooth. As such, especially under wetconditions, it isadvisable tocheckon thecultivationeffectoftheSimbaDTX.
The Simba DTX should be lifted fullyclearof thegroundforallheadlandturns.Turningwiththetines,discunitsorrolleronthegroundcouldleadtodamageofthesecomponents.
In work, the tractor lower link armsshouldberuninpositioncontrolwithdraftintroducedifrequired.
4.8 General Rules when Setting the Simba DTX
The lighter the land conditions theless the disc angle required and theforwardspeedcanbeincreased.
Thewetterthelandconditionsthelessthediscanglerequiredandtheforwardspeedwillneedtobedecreased.
Heavierlandwillrequiremoreofadiscangleandaslowerforwardspeed.
Themorethetrashthelesstheangleon the discs and forward speed willhavetobedecreased.
On ploughed land reduce the discangle to give a cutting/choppingaction.
In hard conditions increase the discangletoincreasepenetration.

4.10 Adjusting DepthTochangetheworkingdepthitisadvisableto lift themachine clear of theground sothat the rear roll linkage becomes loose.Move the position of the depth pins tochangethedepth.
Whenthedepthhasbeenaltered,lowerthemachineintoworkandcheckoperation.Ifthedepthchangehasbeensignificantthenothersettingcouldbeaffected.Thiscouldbe chassis pitch (front to rear) and discangleforthegivendepth.
A small amount of cultivation, eg. a 20metre run, should be carried out beforealtering these settings to check whetherthey are now suitable for the cultivationeffect required. These settings should beaddressed immediately to prevent toomuchworkbeingcarriedout.

4.13 Parking the machineIn order to avoid damage as a result ofmoisture,themachineshouldbeparked,ifpossible,indoorsorundercover.
When manoeuvring themachine, pay attention to yoursurroundings. Ensure thatnobody is in the manoeuvringarea(watchforchildren!).
Park themachineon levelandsolidground.
Lower themachineonto theparkingstands/tinesensuringthatitisstable.
Removethetoplinkandlowerthelinkarmssothatpinscanberemoved.
Switchoffthetractor.

4.11 TurboJetThe Simba DTX can be fitted with anoptionalTurboJetOilSeedRapeapplicator.TheTurboJet isanairseederunitwhichuses two fans to deliver seed behind therearrollinwork.
TheTurboJetcanbeoperatedfromthecabofthetractorusinganadvancedcomputercontrolmodule,theRDSWizardSystem.

4.12 Work InstructionsDriving speedTheSimbaDTXcanbedrivenatspeedsofupto12km/h.
Thisdependsonthefieldconditions(typeofsoil,surfacetrash,etc.).
Drive more slowly if the conditions aredifficultorafirmerfinishisrequired.
Turning:Beforeturning,themachineshouldbeliftedoutofworkwhiledriving.Likewise, it should lowered backintoworkonce the turnhasbeencompleted.
4.14 ChecksThe working quality depends on theadjustmentsandchecksmadepriortoandduringwork,aswellasonregularservicingandmaintenanceofthemachine.
Before beginning work it is thereforeimportant to carry out any necessaryservicingandtolubricatethemachineasrequired.
Checks prior to, and during work: Is the machine correctly hitched up
andthecouplingdevicelocked? Is the machine in a level operating
position and the working depth setcorrectly?

Grease every disc hub untilgrease shows from the sealsaccording to the lubricatingintervalsoutlinedonpage28.
Check disc hubs regularly fortightness.
5.0 Servicing and Maintenance
Followthesafetyinstructionsforservicingandmaintenance.
5.1 ServicingYour machine has been designed andconstructed for maximum performance,operational efficiency and operatorfriendliness under a wide variety ofoperatingconditions.
Prior to delivery, your machine hasbeen checkedat the factory andby yourauthorised dealer to ensure that youreceiveamachineinoptimumcondition.
To ensure trouble-free operation,it is important that servicing andmaintenanceworkisperformedattherecommendedintervals.
5.2 CleaningIn order to ensure that the machine isalways in operating condition and toachieve optimum performance, performthecleaningandservicingworkatregularintervals.
Avoidcleaningtheroll/discbearingswithahigh-pressurehoseoradirectwaterjet.The housing, screwed connections andballbearingsarenotwatertight.

Regularly examine hub caps,seals,shearandpivotboltsandall tracking bolts for tightnessand effectiveness twice weeklyor every 50 working hours(whicheverismorefrequent).
5.3.1 Tightening Disc Hubs1 Ensurethatthebearingsealisinthe
correct orientationwhen replacing /assemblingcomponents.
2 Ensurethatthestubaxleisfreefromdirtandthenutandouterbearingcaneasilyslideonit.
3 Tighten the crown nut with a handspanner (a torque wrench is notrequired) while turning the hubclockwise until the bearing dragsslightly (you feel the hub turningheavily).Someresistancewillbeduetofrictionfromtheseal.
4 Turnback thecrownnut to thenextlockingposition.Evenifthetighteningofthenuthasreachedanexactfixingposition,turnitback.
5 Inserttheretainingpin.
6 Trytoshake/rocktheouteredgeofthehub/spindle:playof0.1 /0.2mmwillnot reduce the bearings’ life and, inaddition,preventsoverheating.Iftheadjustment iscorrect thehubshouldturnfreelywiththeonlyfrictionbeingfromtheseal.

The scraper is intended to cleardirt from blocking betweenadjacentDD rings. If adjustmenttothescrapersisrequiredensurethatthescrapercannotcontactthespacerevenunderload.Regularlyinspect the spacers for signs ofwear and adjust any scrapers toensurenocontactcanbemade.
5.4 DD Lite RollThespacersandringsontheDDLiteRollareheldundertensionbytheendplatesattheouterendsoftherolltube.
Specialistequipment is requiredfor the disassembly of DD Literollers. Please consult yourdealerunderanycircumstancesthatrequiredisassemblyoftheserollers.
Maintenance of these rollers is limitedto yearly/end of season greasing of thebearingsandregular inspection toensure
5.4.1 Bearing SealsItisimportantwhenreplacingthelabyrinthtype bearing seals in disc hubs that theseal is fitted the right way round. Thechamferedlipsideshouldbeattheoutsideof the bearing housing, nearest the discarm (see Fig. 5.02). This chamfered lippreventsdirt ingress into thehousingandalso allows grease to be flushed thoughwhengreasing.

5.5 Double Disc AxlesTheaxlesonthisrolleraretensionedbythemain axle through the centre of the ringsandbearings.
Specialistequipment is requiredfor the disassembly of DoubleDiscaxles.Pleaseconsultyourdealerunderanycircumstancesthatrequiredisassemblyoftheseaxles.
Maintenance of these rollers is limited todailygreasingof thebearingstoflushoutdirt, and regular inspection to ensure theassemblies are tight, and scrapers arecorrectly set. The axles can be tightenedprovided the bearing pillar ‘U’ bolts areloosenedtoavoidpreloadingthebearingsas they move sideways to each other.Ensurethebearingpillarsarere-tightenedtothemainframeafterthis.
5.6 Preparation for StorageIfyouneedtostorethemachineforalongerperiod,observethefollowingpoints:
•Parkthemachineundercoverifpossible.•Protecttheroll/discsagainstrust.Ifyouneedtospraytheimplementswithoil,uselight,biologicallydegradableoils,e.g.rapeoil.

5.7 TinesWhen performing maintenancework on tines extreme careshouldbetaken.Weargogglesandglovesat at all timeswhenmaintainingtines.
Safelysupportunfoldedmachinein raised position using tapsand stands before attemptingmaintenanceworkontines.
Do not attempt to assist fittingtine points with a steel headedhammer, this can lead tosplinteringofthemetalduetoitshardness,whichcancauseinjury.Iftinefittingrequiresassistance,a copper/hide or plastic malletshouldbeused.
Coveranyrubbersectionsbeforeusingoilsprays.Thesesectionsmust not be oiled. Removeany traces of oil with a suitablecleaningagent.
5.9 Maintenance IntervalsApart from daily maintenance, themaintenance intervals are based on thenumberofoperatinghoursandtimedata.
Keepa recordof youroperatinghours toensure that the specified maintenanceintervals are adhered to as closely aspossible.
Never use a machine that is due formaintenance. Ensure that all deficienciesfoundduringregularchecksareremediedimmediately.
5.8 Operator SupportIfyouhaveaproblem,pleasecontactyourdealer. They will endeavour to solve anyproblemswhichmayoccurandprovideyouwithsupportatalltimes.
Inordertoenableyourdealertodealwithproblems as quickly as possible, it helpsifyoucanprovidethemwiththefollowingdata.Alwaysstatethe:
•CustomerNumber•NameandAddress•MachineModel•SerialNumberofMachine•DateofPurchaseandOperatingHours•TypeofProblem
Avoid sharp-edged and pointedparts (disc blades, etc.) whenworkingonthemachine.
Place the machine on suitablesupports when workingunderneath!Donotworkunderamachinewhichisnotsupported!
Onanewmachinetightenallnutsandboltsafter5hoursworkandagainafter15hours.Thisalsoapplies toparts that havebeenmovedorreplaced.Aftertheinitial15hoursof work a once a week check should besufficientdependingondailyworkrates.

5.11 Lubricating the MachinePlease read the section entitled “UsingLubricants”carefullybeforelubricatingthemachine.
Themachinemustbelubricatedregularlyinorderfor it toremainserviceable.Regularlubrication also contributes towardsextendingtheservicelifeofyourmachine.Therecommendedlubricatingintervalsarespecifiedin“Inspection”and“MaintenanceIntervals”.
After it has been washed using a high-pressure hose or steam cleaned, themachineshouldalwaysbelubricatedusingagreasegun.
5.12 Handling of LubricantsPleaseensurethatyoureadthefollowinginstructions as well as the relevantinformation.Thisalsoappliestoanyofyouremployeeswhohandlelubricants.
HygieneLubricantsdonotpresentahealthhazardprovided theyareused for their specifiedpurpose.
In the case of prolonged skin contact,lubricants - especially low-viscosity oils- may remove the natural layer of fatcontained in theskin, resulting indrynessandpossibleirritation.
It is important to takeextremecarewhenhandlingwasteoilasitmaycontainotherirritants.
Vapoursgivenoffbycleaningagentsandoilsarealsoapotentialhealthhazard.You should therefore not carry any oilyclothsaround.Changesoiledworkclothingassoonaspossible.
Alwaysexerciseextremecareandobservethe recommended hygiene rules whenhandling mineral oil products. Details ofthese handling regulations can be foundin information provided by the healthauthorities.
Storage and Handling•Alwaysstorelubricantswheretheycannotbeaccessedbychildren.• Never store lubricants in open orunlabelledcontainers.
Fresh Oil• Apart from taking the usual care andobservinghygienerules, there isnoneedto take any special precautions whenhandlingfreshoil.
Waste Oil•Wasteoilcancontainharmfulcontaminantswhichmaycauseskincancer,allergiesandotherillnesses.
Attention!Oilisatoxicsubstance.Shouldyouswallowanyoil,donottrytovomit.Contactadoctorimmediately.Protect your hands with barrier cream orwearglovestoavoidcontactwiththeskin.Washoffany tracesofoil thoroughlywithsoapandhotwater.

5.13 LubricantsGreatPlainsstronglyrecommendtheuseofLithium Complex EP2 Grease in thedischubsofyourSimbaDTX.ThisgreaseisaLithiumComplexsoapdispersed inamineral oil and is interpretedby IARCasbeingnon-carcinogenic.GreasecartridgesareavailablefromGreatPlains.Usingthisgreaseincombinationwiththelabyrinthtypesealitispermissibletolengthenthegreasingintervalonthedischubsto200hours. Ifusingastandardagriculturalgreasethedischubsshouldbelubricatedevery50hours.
AllotherlubricatingpointsonthemachinecanbelubricatedwithmultigradelubricatinggreaseasspecifiedinDIN51825KP/2K-40.
