kulm newsROOM RENOVATIONS CONTINUELast summer, the Kulm Hotel received the largest room remodeling in its long history. The 40 new rooms & suites, were again designed by star architect Pierre-Yves Rochon - Alpine living with fresh colours and local materials!

COMEBACK OF OUR CULINARY STAR DUETThis winter, gourmets can once again look for-ward to delicious dishes created by our two star chefs: Tim Raue, awarded 2 Michelin stars for his Asian-inspired cuisine, and Claudia Canessa, with her native Peruvian specialties, who was recently selected as Switzerland‘s chef of the year in the renowned Bilanz business magazine.

SNOW DEAL REPLACES HOTEL SKI PASSThis winter, the Engadine mountain railways are introducing a new flexible pricing structure for ski tickets with the Snow Deal. Based on the motto «early birds are rewarded with better rates», book your ski pass up to 15 days before the day you plan to ski on and you will receive up to a 30% discount. This winter only, hotel guests can still benefit from the long-standing Hotel Skipass for CHF 38, before it will finally be replaced for the winter season of 2019/20 (www.snow-deal.ch).

NEW: SAINT MORITZ SKATING CLUBStarting this winter, the newly established Saint Moritz Skating Club, based at the legendary Kulm Country Club, will offer private lessons and various workshops as well as impressive shows featuring Swiss ice-skating legends who guarantee exciting high-end entertainment.

For the 26th St. Moritz Gourmet Festival from 11 to 19 January 2019, the regional epicurean scene will once again be enriched by nine guest chefs of the highest international class and renown.

sven wassmer @ kulm hotel (12-14 january) Young and experienced, accessible and disciplined are traits not often found in one person, but they combine perfectly in Wassmer’s world. Since 2015, the young chef from Fricktal has been creating a new Swiss cuisine. Two Michelin stars and 18 points in GaultMillau‘s restaurant guide underpin his ambition. Telling stories, reviving old memories and creating new ones is his aim, as he treads a fine line between nostalgia and the avant-garde.

nicolai nørregaard @ kronenhof (16-18 january) Nicolai Nørregaard mirrors his restaurant Kadeau in Copenhagen: relatively inconspicuous on the outside, but an exciting adventure lies inside. Just to be clear: Nørregaard has had no culinary training. This fact alone makes the quiet guy from the island of Bornholm an attraction. A Michelin star underlines his excellence in the kitchen, his flavours are truly original.

very important kidsDear diary,Wow! Yesterday we drove to the Kulm Hotel and the mountains in the Engadine were so high and covered in glittering snow! I was really surprised by all the things already waiting for us in our cosy room with our comfortable beds: sweets and toys - plenty for me and my brother. Totally wicked J! The sun woke me up this morning - there is a whole lot of fresh snow outside and I couldn‘t wait to dive right in. After an enormous breakfast in the beautifully decorated big hall, my brother and I and a few other kids went to Salastrains for our snowboarding course - by the end of the lesson I landed a 180° on the small ski jump, so cool! Back at the Kulm, a mug of hot chocolate warmed me up in no time.

The afternoon was just as good as the morning: there was lots going on in the Kids’ Club. I got to know a lot of children and Lara and I played a round of Just Dance with the Wii. Afterwards, we jumped around on the bouncy castle until we were running on empty - that was fun! I think she is going to be my new best friend.

Tomorrow, we’re planning to skate on the big ice rink in front of the Kulm Country Club, that will be great for sure. But, most of all, I‘m looking forward to the cookie baking, Christmas Eve and Santa coming by - I cannot wait to unpack my presents! Winter holidays at the Kulm Hotel are just awesome!

The three mountain railways of the Corvatsch, Diavolezza and Lagalb are part of the same company as Kulm Hotel and Grand Hotel Kronenhof; they are all located around the Bernina massif (the 4,049-metre-high Piz Bernina is the only four-thousand-metre peak in the eastern Alps) forming the fairytale mountain scenery.
