EMS MISSION NEWS August 2010

FROM THE DIRECTOR’S DESK

My favorite definition of Prayer is that, 'Prayer is the measure of our Dependence on God.' The more prayerful we are, the more dependent we are on God and the less prayerful we are, the less dependent we are on God. The wisest and greatest Christian, is one who totally depends on God in all things, little or big, for as the scriptures say, 'Apart from Me, you can do nothing' ( John 15:5). This is more so, as regards Missions, that apart from Christ, our self-efforts would be useless and of no lasting eternal value.

No wonder, the Apostle Paul, the greatest Missionary of all times after Christ Himself and God our Father, was often given to call for prayers from Brethren and Supporters, even as he himself spent long hours in praying for them too. His cry so often was 'Brethren, pray for us! ( See Colossians 4:3, I Thessalonians 5:25,2nd Thessalonians 3;1, Hebrews 13:18, Colossians 1:9, Galatians 4:19, 2 Thessalonians 1:11) No one who depends on God will ever be disappointed, nor fail in accomplishing any task that God has given him, “As the Scripture says, 'Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.'”(Rom 10:11). After a very long break, God has enabled us to produce Prayer Calendars for praying for our Missionaries, our supporters and converts on Mission fields. Additionally, EMS has acquired a prayer mountain at the EMS Rhizha retreat Center in Jos to encourage 24hours prayers for personal problems, EMS, ECWA and the work of Missions globally. We encourage you to make use ofthese God given means to pray, even as we pray for you too! One chief distinction between Christians and people of other faith is that while they serve dead gods who cannot answer their prayers(Psalm 115:3-8), we on the other hand serve a Living God who hears and answers our prayers! Our Lord and God says,“You who call on the LORD,give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.”(Isa 62:6-7) May we take up this challenge from God Himself and give ourselves no rest and give Him no rest until He makes our homes and our Missions Fields the praise of the earth. Amen! - Rev. Stephen Baba Panya

Ascending the EMS Prayer Mountain by ECWA President and Entourage

Desperate Quest For Spiritual Power!

It is gladdening to let you know that just at the time we in EMS have become more desperate for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit, the Lord is at work, positioning us for just that by teaching us and helping to pray more. This is most encouraging!

The Korean Connection

Rev. Dr. & Mrs Lee are South Korean SIM Missionaries who have been seconded to work with EMS Missionaries and Praise God, they have been Missionaries indeed, with a heart for especially the unreached rural areas, where they are spending most of their times and resources. We really thank God for their lives and Ministry.

Dr. Lee related how the Lord has over the years, been

impressing on him to raise prayer for revival of Missions that will raise a giant Missionary workforce from Nigeria, that will spread to the whole of Africa. He began by establishing Missionaries Retreat and Training Centers, firstly at Lakwame, in Kaltungo DCC of Gombe State Nigeria and then later at Rhizha, just at the outskirt of Jos, on the way to Bauchi, Capital of Bauchi State Nigeria. It is at the EMS Rhizha Retreat Center, where Lee is using as a base for reaching out to Missionaries to train, counsel and help them, including helping with building of Churches on Missions Fields and construction of water projects, that the Lord once more directed him to acquire and build up a PRAYER MOUNTAIN as part of Rhizha Retreat Center. Praise the Lord, the EMS of ECWA Prayer Mountain has become a reality today. This however has cost the Lees and our Korean Supporters Millions of Naira and much more in terms of Physical and Spiritual resources invested.

Praying The Korean Way

God sent the Lees, not only to teach us how to pray but also to help us to pray. Because of his prayer burden, Dr Lee spent days upon days under a mango tree up there in the mountain praying through the nights, often kept company by only monkeys, some reptiles and

mosquitoes, but God's answers to the prayers of this praying saint have been wonderful and miraculous.

However, the Lees have now constructed a Prayer Hut right on the mountain that is Reptiles, mosquitoes and Monkeys proof, where all can go and pray 24 hours, day and night. The first Prayer Hut constructed is for praying for Personal Problems, EMS of ECWA, the ECWA Church , Jos and Plateau State. Dr. Lee plans to build a second Prayer Hut at a higher level of the mountain for praying for Missions

and the Church in Nigeria and then a third Prayer Hut at the very top of the mountain for Praying for World Missions and the world.

You are welcomed!

You are welcomed to the Spiritual power House, opened for prayers 24hours of the day and 366 Days of the Year

continually. Please come and invite brethren to join in the intercession. I hear the Spirit say 'Come Up To the Mountain Top and meet with Me! 'Thank God for the Lees and pray for more grace for them to fulfill the Vision that God has given them for EMS of ECWA and world Missions! See you at the mountain top at Rhizha.

TANTAKILI MISSION STATION NOW ROOFED AND PLASTERED!

A supporter touched by the need for Tantakili Mission Station in Burkina Faso, sent us N70,000 ( Seventy thousand Naira) and this made a big difference as the pictures below show!

Three out of our Nine Regions now have Brand New Hiluxes for Field Operations being donations by our Supporters. This is greatly enhancing the performance of our Regional Coordinators visiting and supervising our missionaries. We are praying, believing God and making plans for the rest of the Regions to have one each, especially the 'Critical Six Regions'. May the Good Lord continue to bless and prosper you all as you Pray, Give and Go for Missions in Jesus Name. Amen!

The Zerina Church Under Construction by the Community of

New Bilevers.

North West Regional Coordinator’s Wife, Mrs. Simon Yako, Inspecting

the Well during Construction

Ungwan Zerina is one of the villages in Kurebe area of Niger State which was predominantly a Muslim community controlled by forces of darkness. The Marabouts and the witch doctors were the decision-makers until the arrival of our EMS Missionary Pastor Iliya Yahaya and his family. Their going to the village was really God's timing as the villagers were already tired of the torture and manipulations of the Islamic

Marabouts and their witch doctors.

Though the missionary and his family did not find it easy at their arrival, yet the Lord helped them to

endure all the demonic attacks and today, to the glory of God the whole village is praising God for liberating them from the forces of Islam and demonic powers.

The missionary however faced the following challenges before the village's conversion to Christ:

1. They saw the power of God as one of the newly wedded bride was attacked by the Marabou with madness and God set her free as the missionary prayed for her.

2. Three children were very sick and taken to the witch doctors who were not able to heal them, but attributed it to witchcraft, which would have led to their death. God gave the missionary the boldness and he went to the witch doctor's shrine and took the children by force to the hospital in Kaduna. The villagers were waiting for the corpse to be brought back, but God in his mercies sustained them until surgery was done on them, during which the doctor discovered that the real cause of the swollen stomach was that their intestine inside had been cut by Typhoid fever and the faeces had accumulated in the stomach. Praise God that the three children were saved, healed and are doing well now in the Lord.

3. Water problem was also a challenge, but praise God that the Director of EMS saw that need in the village when he visited the Mission field with the Regional Co-ordinator (Rev. Simon Yako) and he encouraged the missionary by raising funds for them from some

supporters, which enabled a well to be dug for the village and now they have good water. God used the well also to touch many lives and to open up the community much wider and to increase the acceptance of the gospel.

4. An Islamic Marabou stood with a Qur'an almost throughout the day standing to invoke curses over the

missionary and his family without any effect. God frustrated his effort so that nothing happened to the

missionary and his family.

It was after all these challenges that God fulfilled his promises that the whole village now have left Islam to embrace Christ. The mosque building collapsed due to abandonment and the villagers through community effort built a church in the village where the villagers are now worshiping the True God.

Pray for the conversion of the only one man from the village that is yet to receive Christ. He hardens heart and refuses his family from accepting Christ. But God has the final word. His daughter is now a Christian and has decided to go to the Bible School. Through her testimony, her younger ones now have also accepted the Lord. The man was trying to force his children to return to Islam and they refused, he then decided to leave the village completely with the wife. To discourage them more, he then removed all the roofing of the house where they were staying to go and build somewhere. But the day he was leaving, the wife decided to accept Christ too to continue in the same faith with her children. However, God has provided the zinc sheets and now the house has been re-roofed and they are rejoicing serving the Lord.

Praise God for his faithfulness and for using the missionary to accomplish his purpose. He has seen many people healed instantly from scorpion stinks.

To God be the glory for all his goodness to his servants.

ECWA President, Rev. A.O Farinto addressing the

Conference

Rev. Musa Tsakani (Man Gyada Bata Barci) at the North Central Region Conference July, 2010

Hallelujah to God Most High for granting us the privilege to successfully host the EMS 60th Anniversary in the North Central Region on the 8th 10th July, 2010.

The 24 Man Central Working Committee (CWC) had Rev. Garba Bawa as Chairman and Hon. Aminu Zang as Secretary. The committee was drawn from the 10 DCCs within the Region as follows: Bauchi, Jos, Bukuru, Toro, Yelwa, Mangu, Miango, Zagun, Zabolo and Dass.

We are grateful to God for how he chose to use His people within the shortest possible time to demonstrate His immeasurable power to steer up people within the church in ECWA and outside ECWA to book hotels and guest houses for missionaries and their wives. Some

accommodated missionaries in their houses and fed them. All the 120 missionary couples and other ECWA members from other DCCs were adequately accommodated and fed during the conference.

The three days celebration was so colourful, that church leaders from the ECWA Headquarters, DCC leaders, women and men fellowship groups, Boys' and Girls' Brigades , Choir, Bazata International, etc attended. Ministration in songs was gloriously rendered.

Many activities took place as follows:

1. There was a powerful exposition of God's word on the Topic: 'A Vision Received A Vision Passed on by ECWA Trustee, Rev. Dr. Simon Ibrahim, and Rev. Stephen Panya Baba (EMS Director). They challenged us by reflecting back on the vision received by Walter Gowons which he passed on to his mother and subsequently passed on to Bingham, Thomas Kent and EMS/ECWA through the SIM work since 1893.

The former speaker dwelled on the historical facts of how the early missionaries reached our Godless,

hopeless, animistic society with the gospel and how our fore fathers received the gospel and began to propagate it with little or no resources and the need for us to carry on with the vision in our generation. The later speaker dwelled on the fact that as a result of what our forefathers did, our generation must not allow the vision to die, but must sense the new move of God and reawakening for missions in order to ensure an all out participation in global evangelism.

2. Book Dedication: On the 10 July, 2010 EMS dedicated and lunched the first published book on EMS written by Rev. (Dr.) Panya Baba (former EMS Director 1970-1988, and former ECWA President). The dedication at the North Central Region witnessed the presence of many dignitaries. The book titled “A Vision Received, A Vision Passed On,” The history of EMS from 1948-1998; was dedicated by the ECWA President Rev. Anthony Farinto (JP) and the key note address was said by the ECWA General Secretary, Rev. Mipo Dadang. Rev. (Dr.) Panya Baba, apart from printing the first 3000 (Three Thousand) copies of the book free of charge, has also dedicated the entire proceeds of the book to the work of EMS

The occasion was chaired by Gen. John Ahmadu (rtd) and the chief luncher was Mrs. Bilkisu Luka Yusuf, just to mention but a few. We are grateful for the generosity of all and sundry during the book lunch.

All our DCCs within the Region participated fully

3. The EMS Documentary was presented (Audio/Visual) and panel discussion was held with Rev. Dr. Samaila Nahor (former EMS Director), Jos DCC Women Leader, Mrs. Pasisa Yawa, Baba Kasuwa Bwoi (first EMS Driver & ECWA Treasurer), and Pastor Gana Danladi Slash Regional Coordinator North Central.

4. The oldest missionary still alive, (113 years old), Rev. Musa Tsakani Dass (Man gyada bata barchi) was present. He started his ministry in 1929 and first planted the church in Kano.

5. Awards presentation to churches, leaders and veterans missionaries were made for their dedication and faithful service in missions and society at large.

6. The ECWA Bukuru DCC gave a donation of 41 bags of rice to EMS missionaries.

We must certainly appreciate ECWA Plateau chuch for requesting for 2 missionaries to be supporting hence-forth. We are also are thankful for a sister from ECWA Plateau church for requesting 1 missionary to be supporting too.

We thank the media for their effort to reach out to the Christian community to be involved in missions.

EMS MISSION NEWS August 2010

Pastor Danladi Slash Gana

(EMS North Central Coordinator)

The Bible calls on the church to care for widows. In fact for our practice of religion to be complete we must have an ongoing plan for widows and orphans. Since God is the husband of the widows and father of the fatherless, we should be conscious of the fact that our God given resources is to help provide for those he is concern about.

In respect to the above facts EMS of ECWA has come up with an ongoing concern and package for the EMS missionaries' widows especially those who are not working and those who are having many children who are not capable to take care of the family. The welfare package began from the month of July 2010. The ministry aims to disburse five thousand Naira to each widow monthly. Plans are also on the way to train widows on practical vocations at the EMS City Ministries training centre Jos and also to organize seminars to encourage them from time to time. EMS of ECWA has 24 widows on her welfare program.

We however, call on our readers to join us in raising funds towards assisting the families of these veterans soldiers who died while on active service. You can send in your donation through our bank accounts and kindly specify your reason of giving using our communication lines.

EMS MISSION NEWS August 2010

Rev. Dr. Dennis D. Shelly

Part 2 II. What are some practical ways each of you can respond to these four reasons to share the Gospel with others around you? What could you do individually or in your church?

First, be certain within yourself that you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour from your sins. Many church members know the phrase, "to have Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord," but "Do you truly know for certain that if you died today that you would be on your way to heaven?" If you are not sure, you need

to first of all realise that you have a need for Christ to save you from your sins. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Sins are the things that you have done wrong that make God sad or unhappy. God has made a provision, His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to save you from your sins (Rom. 5:8; 6:23b). Romans 10:9-10 shows that if you will respond to this offer from God to "confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." God promises to forgive you of your sins and give you victory in your life. Romans 10:13 states that "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord [for salvation] will be saved."

Second, if you have already made this most important decision of your life, God wants you to be AVAILABLE to Him and ACTIVE to do what He wants in your life. We are "created in Christ Jesus for the purpose of good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Eph. 2:10). He wants you to witness and shine for Him each day in whatever you do. As a Christian He has given each of you at least one spiritual gift to be used in the church or to reach out to others who have not known of Christ. If you do not yet know what spiritual gift you have, begin to get involved in some Christian service opportunity in your church or compound.

One of my Bible College teachers helped me to learn three ways to find my spiritual gift. First, my gift will give me joy as I begin to use it. Second, I will see spiritual fruit or results in what I am doing. Third, mature Christian leaders in my church or Christian ministry will confirm what gift(s) I have as I am active in serving Him. God used these ways to lead me to come to Nigeria for my first teaching ministry in 1973. These three guidelines continue to confirm that I should remain in service here too.

Third, I get excited when I see the great potential each of you has to become involved in evangelism, discipleship, and cross-cultural missions ministry. Missions is the heartbeat of God.

EMS MISSION NEWS August 2010

If you allow Him to work in and through you, He can use you in great ways to be a mobiliser, encourager, or empowerer in your home church or ministry in which you're involved presently.

The important thing is whether you've discovered your spiritual gift(s) and are using them fully for the Lord. What is your heart's passion? What ministry is God leading or calling you to do? Whether you are married or single, God has an important job for you to do for Him. God promises in Psalm 32:8 to lead you a step at a time: "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you." Each of you has a strategic role to play in achieving God's mission to reach the world for Christ.

If you're the pastor of your church, you are the most important person in your church to cultivate a heart for missions in your church members. Do not see missions as "competition" to your current church budget. Having a heart for missions within Nigeria and beyond will motivate your church to do even more than you are doing now and your needs will be met (Phil. 4:19). Where you have a missions-minded church, you have a church that is moving.

Help your members have assurance of salvation and know that God wants each of them to be an active witness for the Lord. You can present a message like this one or use other messages or lessons relating to evangelism or discipleship with your congregation. Start having some Bible studies or training sessions with your elders. You can invest time regularly with a disciple one-on-one to help him mature in the Lord. You can keep your members updated with prayer requests from EMS of ECWA and other ministries you know of. EMS can send you a regular email update newsletter, if you request for it. You could also get current missions news from the Internet. You can help to organise a missions committee in your church, sponsor an EMS missionary partially or fully, give of your resources, or lead a small group from your church to visit an EMS missionary for a weekend or short missions trip.

Are you praying that God will raise up some of your own church members to become EMS

missionaries or come to Bible College or Seminary for ministry training? Where is the next generation of church leaders and missionaries going to come from if you don't take this task seriously? Invite a missionary to come to speak in your church in a Sunday morning service or show a missions film to challenge others to become more committed to world missions. Have a short missions conference during a weekend for your church, LCC or DCC.

If you are a CRS teacher or educator, be a witness and empowerer to lead your students to Christ and then disciple them to live for Christ in their family or village. As you become an example of a godly Christian by living out Christ in front of your students, you can encourage other teachers and staff to be faithful for the Lord. You can also be active in your children's church or Men's or Women's Fellowship. God wants to bring positive change to our schools, colleges, universities in Nigeria. It will only happen one person at a time, as you do what God leads you to do.

If you're a child, youth or adult, get involved in some ministry now. Get involved in a weekend missions outreach this semester or in a witnessing team. Take others out to witness or

EMS MISSION NEWS August 2010

make friends with Muslims or other non-Christians around you and pray for opportunities to witness to them. You as ladies or men can you can get involved in evangelism and discipleship right with your own children or in your neighborhood. You could teach children or youth in a Sunday School. You could take a course to help you learn how to evangelize or disciple your own children or another adult. Your example will be followed by those around you. Things are better caught than taught.

So let's not play church, but let's be the church. Remember what William Carey said, "Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God!" Remember these four reasons why each Christian should get personally involved in evangelism and discipleship: A. The Command from Above; B. The Cry from Beneath; C. The Plea from Without; and D. The Urge from Within. As each of you get more involved in practical, active duty for the Lord, more people will come to Christ and others will learn from your example. May God help each of you to carry out the Great Commission that He has given so clearly from his Word with joy and expectation!

We recently had a great church planting training for some of our missionaries put on by e3 Partners (USA). After the successful training, the trainer wanted to visit some of our missionaries in the field so I took them to an unreached area we have targeted for church planting in Nassarawa State. We had a great visit and then just after we left, our EMS worker Bulus had an incredible encounter! He was walking through the bush near one of the targeted villages and he stepped over what he believed to be a log, but quickly realized it was a child! The small boy was naked, dirty and shivering. They picked him up thinking he was only 3 or 4 years old by his size. They asked about him in the near-by village and were told that he was 14 or 15 and at age 2 he was thrown into the 'bush' to die, as they

thought he was possessed by a demon because he could not yet walk or talk. He had a fever and was severely dehydrated, so our staff immediately brought him to the Evangel hospital here in Jos. Dr Sampson (SIM USA), a pediatrician examined him and said that based on him having all his adult teeth, he really is 14/15! Amazingly, somehow this precious boy has survived all those years by eating leaves, dirt and other things he could find on his own. Dr. Sampson also confirmed that he was near death and so God allowed us to rescue him at just the right time.

EMS MISSION NEWS August 2010

This boy has bonded to Bulus & his wife and is affectionate to many people he meets. He is quickly learning many things like how to use a cup, how to eat from a plate and he can now walk! He cannot speak, but makes more and more noises and even laughs. He has gained about 3 kilos, but is still less than 15 kilos and only about 3 feet tall. How he lived all those years on his own is a mystery. The missionary named him Emmanuel, “God with us”. God was definitely with him. He will live with Bulus and his wife near Lafia. He is safe now and will never be abandoned again.

Also, we are now seriously targeting this area for church planting so they can meet the one who really rescued Emmanuel. Also, as they are discipled and learn about God's Word, they will help save and not abandon other needy ones in the future. We hope to plant several churches in the area and one specifically where we found Emmanuel. We plan to call it "Emmanuel ECWA Church."

An Amazing Opportunity…help us in our church planting efforts throughout Nigeria. The e3 Partners (USA) will return to train all our 900 EMS missionaries in the next few months and will supplement part of the cost of training, but we need your help to sponsor our missionaries so they can attend. You can support one of our missionaries in this important training with a gift of only N 5,000, or maybe you can help support several. Remember to indicate that your support is for Church Planting Training. Thank you for you prayers and generous support. We need you. They need you!!!

Mr. & Mrs. David Baba are our EMS supporters. Their passion is to see that EMS missionary children are being trained. As a result of this God has put in their hearts to build two schools for children. One in Tunga and the other in Zerina in Kurebe area of Niger State. It is not only for EMS children, but it is also to help the children in the communities where missionaries are working. This vision is really God's given vision. Our missionaries' children have suffered in the past without education.

One of the EMS Children School Built by Mr. & Mrs. David Baba

Mr. & Mrs. Baba are in their sixties now, and very happy to carry out this divine assignment as a call for building schools for these needy children. They call the project “faith project” because they have realized that without faith it is impossible to please God. They always say that it is God who has the

resources and he is the one

who provides for every project. So their own roles they said is to pray, plan, and trust God to provide for them by

faith to execute the project.

The idea of saturation Church Planting becomes appealing as Chris Horton shared the vision of training centre for Church Planting. But he reiterated the fact that this is not possible until the church arises to the mandate Jesus

gave just before going back to heaven: making disciples of all nations.

EMS, in conjuction with Peter Fretheim and the TCCP Partners planned a successful training in February this year which brought about the training of trainers (TOT) which came to conclusion in July. During the two visits to Nigeria Chris Honton had visited 3 EMS stations for outreaches and it was during one of the visits that the story of Emmanuel began (carried in this newsletter title “An Amazing Story”).

EMS wishes to plan the TCCP training for her missionaries. We therefore pray that you partner with us in prayers and financial obligation for regional trainings that are scheduled before the year runs out.

North East Region started 9th Nov. 1999 with 9 DCCs and seven coordinators. God in his mercy has blessed the region and today we have 12 DCCs with 157 Missionaries 11

Coordinators and 3 staff in the Regional office serving within the (5) five states that make up the Region i.e Adamawa, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe. The DCCs that makes up the region are: Bore, Borno, Gombe, Gongola, Kaltungo, Kume, Shongom, Tangale, Taraba, Waja, Yamel, and Yobe.

Tal, the Bore DCC Headquarters was colourful as the missionaries and their supporters trooped in

to the town on 29th July, 2010 1st August, 2010 for their 60th anniversary. The anniversary's celebration was at it's Peak on Saturday 30th July, 2010. Three major events were carried out, firstly was the cutting of the anniversary cake done by

the ECWA Trustee Rev. Dr. Simon Ibrahim on behalf of the ECWA President who was out of the country for an official function. The trustee was assisted by the former deputy governor of Gombe State, Barrr. Joshua Lidani, who was the chairman of the occasion, Mama Hannatu Ibrahim the chairlady Elder A. A. Tukka, the longest serving EMS Supporter, EMS Administrator Rev. Zaure M. Galadima and other important dignitaries.

The second event was the Book dedication. The former ECWA President Rev. (Dr.) Panya Baba wrote a book titled “ A vision received, A vision Passed on.” The book is a history of God's faithfulness in Mission work in ECWA within the 60 years of EMS operation. The book

reviewer Elder K. K. Lubo made the occasion very exciting. The way he summarized the book made the congregation eager to get the book. Added to the book dedication was the regional documentary DVD dedication which was done simultaneously by the Trustee and the guest speaker Rev. James Igbul.

The third event that made the Saturday programme very colourful was the awards presentation to the deserving supporters namely Barr. Joshua Lidani, Elder A.A Tukka, Mama Rabi Iliya Kwati, ECWA Gombe DCC, W/Fellowship Gombe DCC, W/Fellowship Gombe LCC and Mrs

Racheal S. Leka. Others were the most improved DCCs in the region i.e Borno, Yobe and Kaltungo DCCs. Because it was a celebration of the God's faithfulness for Mission work in ECWA, with the North East Region itself clocking 11 years, the pioneering regional coordinator's visionary and servant hood leadership qualities was recognized with an award of excellence to Rev. (Dr.) Garba U. Zambuk. The best coordinator award went to Rev. Yunana Misal EMS Coordinator Kaltungo DCC and the longest serving coordinator award went to Rev. Luka Rangadi, while Elder Joshu'a Garba in Taraba DCC, received award of commitment and dedication to mission support. Finally, Rev. Samson Deba was given award of longest serving driver in EMS of ECWA.

His royal Highness Dr. Abdu Buba Maisheru II, the 15th Mai Tangle made the progamme historic. He was not only present, but the highest support morally and financially came from him and his entire family. The powerful and passionate messages by the speaker Rev. James Igbul will for ever be remembered by all that heard him. All the leadership of the 12 DCCs did not only support the celebration, but were in attendance to ensure that our missionaries enjoyed the programme. God will bless them richly.

The sons and daughters of the host DCC made us proud. They did everything possible to make the programme a success. May God reward you. The planning committee is thanking God for a privilege to serve and all EMS Missionaries and their supporters for finding time to come. To God be the glory for the success of the 60th anniversary.

The EMS Committee Chairman Rev. Stephen Gana has this to say on the 60th anniversary:

“A CELEBRATION OF GOD'S FAITHFULNESS”

EMS MISSION NEWS August 2010

God commanded Israel to consecrate the fifteenth year as a year of Liberty (Leviticus 25:10) For EMS of ECWA in the North East region, we consecrated and celebrated the entire sixty years (1948 2008) of God's faithfulness and how He has librated so many people who were in darkness and brought them to the saving knowledge of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ through the work of EMS.
