Interview’s
The only way to secure employment is by passing an interview. Interviews can be very nerve racking and stressful. The more prepared you are for an interview the better possibility of securing employment.
Your resume will get you the interview, not the job. At an interview don't’ say “...on my resume…” assume they haven’t read your resume and say “I’ve have 10 years of experience in the graphic design field.”
“Believing in yourself is the starting point. Effectively communicating your
abilities to others is the necessity.”
Nervousness and lack of preparation often result in long, rambling, incorrect, or never-ending answers. Experts say that your responses should not exceed 60 seconds. Keep answers brief and to the point, but not too short. Give examples, and ensure you show enthusiasm in your voice.
Examine your previous experience and prior to the interview, write down major
responsibilities for each job, and any special accomplishments. Know your strengths and the abilities you were the most productive and excelled the most.
Always research the company. The more inside information you can get, the more accurately you’re going to be able to phrase your answers to demonstrate how your skills fill the employer’s needs.
Interview Etiquette:
Dress appropriately
Display good manners to everyone you
come in contact with. You don’t know who is sitting behind the desk
Practice your handshake, eye contact ,
and nonverbal communication
Arrive on time
Use people’s names
Don’t brag, lie, or speak badly about
anyone
Write a thank you note after the interview
Usually at the end of an interview you are asked if you have any questions. Potential employers pay attention to the questions you ask. Don’t ask about salary, you can ask that when offered the job. This is your opportunity to determine if the job is for you.
The better prepared you are the easier your interview will be!

Williams, a career counsellor and trainer who runs workshops on resume writing and interview techniques, explains how to answer different interview questions asked in a variety of job categories: management, sales and marketing, clerical and administrative, customer relations, technical, creative, and practical. Additional questions for school and college graduates are included, as are difficult, critical or negative, or off-the-wall questions, and questions to ask the interviewer. She also addresses what interviewers are looking for, how to prepare, how to answer questions, different types of interviews (from phone to video to panel interviews), tasks and tests that might be included, and how to make a good impression.
