Catholic Schools
Catholic schools are an important part of the Catholic Church’s mission;
Dignity and respect for each student form the basis of teaching and learning in Catholic schools, with the message & values of the Gospel integral to the faith development activities and religious education programs.
Catholic schools provide high quality academic, social and vocational education and curriculum that is responsive to the individual needs of students in a changing world.
5
Catholic Schools aim to: • provide a sacred landscape where religious and cultural
identities are nurtured
• provide religious education and opportunities for faith
development in communities where prayer and
sacramental celebrations are integral
• empower students to shape and enrich the world with
direction, meaning, purpose and hope derived from their
encounter with the life and teachings of Jesus
6
Catholic Schools (cont.):
• build environments focused on achievement, challenge, creativity and enjoyment – students becoming the best they can be
• include highly qualified and caring teachers committed to the ethos of Catholic education
• are inclusive, safe and foster a strong sense of wellbeing respecting the dignity of each person
• are welcoming communities promoting quality interpersonal relationships
