Executive Order
• What does it mean? • Employment is the best way to help people achieve independence and self-
improvement. This should be the primary goal of public services.
• The Governor's Commission on Jobs for Floridians with Disabilities wants to improve employment for persons with disabilities.
• The Commission recommended that the state agencies form a work group.
• An interagency cooperative agreement (a list of tasks that agencies will agree to do by signing the document) will help agencies work together on an ongoing basis

Executive Order 13-284
• Interagency Cooperative Agreement • Leadership to maximize resources
• Strategic goals and benchmarks to implement agreement
• Financing and contracting methods to prioritize employment
• Training and technical assistance to ensure effective employment services
• Interagency collaboration and partnership during services plans, including IEPs
• Promote service innovation
• Identify accountability measures to ensure sustainability

Interagency Agreement
• This interagency cooperative agreement provides a framework for long-term commitment to improving employment outcomes for persons with disabilities in the State of Florida.
• The Interagency Cooperative Agreement covers many different agencies in Florida.
• It covers seven domains/areas

What can we do?
• Ensure your community is informed.
• Evaluate your communities’ employment outcomes and activities.
• Identify barriers and facilitators.
• Identify activities to improve competitive employment.
• Make recommendations to state level Employment First teams.
