Working at the Royal CommissionThe Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu is consid-ered one of the greatest industrial zones in the region. The Royal Commission embraces the most important industries in the fields of petrochemicals, energy pro-duction and sea water treatment.

Working in such an industrial environment is considered a great challenge, due to the constant need to keep abreast with the development and modernization of production, the search for new and fresh markets, as well as finding true partners with which to establish the partnerships that share the same visions of the future and have the will to transform them into realities.
As the human element is the basis for advancement and development, the Royal Commission has focused and devoted the majority of its interest to prepare, develop and refine the capabilities of its employees through competency based career development programs. The Royal Commission also prepares leaders to assume leadership positions through these continuous and constant development programs.

Types of Jobs in the Royal Commission:
1. Technical and Administrative.
2. Faculty and Staff.
3. Training Positions.
Allowances and Benefits:
• A signing bonus, equivalent to one month’s basic
salary for married employees and half a month’s
basic salary for single employees, is paid once,
three months after appointment.
• A relocation allowance equivalent to 1000 SR for
married employees and 450 SR for single em-
ployees is paid once, after appointment.
• A transportation allowance: below grade 6 (500
SR), Grades 6-9 (700 SR), Grades 10-13 (900
SR), Grades 14-17 (1200 SR), is paid monthly.
• Home Ownership Programs are available.

Competency Based Leadership Programs:
The leaders of the organization determine its future;
therefore, companies and organizations invest in train-
ing their leaders to play a major role in successfully
and effectively achieving the goals of these bodies.
Hence, the Royal Commission implements the Train-
ing Programs for Leaders, which provide the partici-
pants with an overall understanding of the principles
and concepts of leadership, in addition to the skills
and tools necessary to lead others.

Allowances and benefits are categorized as follows:
1. Technical and Administrative Positions
These include most ranks of Royal Commission posi-
tions, from lowest to highest. A new employee is hired
at the first step of the rank and is compensated with
an extra step for every year of experience.
Engineers, though, are initially hired at Rank 8/Step
5 and are compensated an extra step for each year
of experience.
2. Academic positions. (Faculty)
These are teaching positions at Yanbu Industrial
College and Yanbu University College.

Yanbu Industrial College
Yanbu Industrial College one of the facilities of the
Royal Commission, was established in 1989. The
college was established to achieve the goals and
objectives of the Royal Commission in developing
highly trained and educated human resources and
manpower that would provide Saudi Arabia with the
leaders and managers of the Kingdom›s different
economic and industrial sectors.
Yanbu Industrial College has recently acquired aca-
demic accreditation from ACBSP, for its Business and
Management programs. The college was also accred-
ited by ABET for its Mechanical Engineering programs
and Chemical Engineering Technology Programs.

The college is committed to the advancement of
qualified and educated Saudi citizens who will serve
the other economy sectors and industries. To achieve
this goal, the college was equipped with modern
educational aids such as audio visual computer labs,
specialized laboratories and highly advanced work-
shops. Yanbu Industrial College currently comprises
four major departments which provide 12 different
specializations.
Yanbu Industrial College is located in the centre of
Yanbu Industrial City and is close to the coast of the
Red Sea.

The Duration and System of Study:
• The system of study in the college is by credit hours.
• The college offers an Associate Degree, after which stu-
dents can proceed to obtain a Bachelor Degree according
to certain standards.
• The duration of study in the college is five and a half years;
three and a half years for the Associate Degree and two
more years for the Bachelor Degree in scientific engineer-
ing and administrative studies.

Yanbu University College
Yanbu University College was established to provide
the community with well-qualified manpower to meet
the needs of the region. It is meant to be a modern
educational model which produces effective lead-
ers to lead the industries and the economy in the
Kingdom.

Holidays: (60) days per year in addition to religious and of
ficial holidays.
Allowances
• Saudi faculty members are hired to the first step of the po-
sition and are compensated one step for each year of rel-
evant experience.
• Saudi faculty members are compensated 25%, as a teach-
ing allowance, starting from the first step in his contract.
Each Saudi faculty member is compensated with a scarcity
allowance according to the following:
• 40% starting from the first step in the contract for
engineering, medical, health and computer specializations.
• 30% starting from the first step in the contract for
administrative, finance and system specializations.
• 20% starting from the first step in the contract for other
specializations.
• Faculty members have the opportunity to complete their
higher education abroad according to their specializations.
