This document describes the strategy to be adopted during the conversion of data from Legacy System into Oracle Cloud application.

How we can create the bulk employees in the Fusion application. What are the pre-requisites to upload the users and what is the format we can upload the data to Fusion using HCM data loader?

Oracle has defined a process to upload the users in bulk and provided a format on how we can provide the data to create the users using HCM data loader.

Prerequisites to access HCM Data loader


Below are the roles that should get assigned to the user, from which user you want to upload the data to Fusion application.

Human Resource Manager

Human Resource Specialist

Human Capital Management Integration Specialist

You have to download the ‘Worker.dat’ Worker zip file from Oracle Fusion application and format the data according to the given format and then use the file to upload to Fusion application.

Process to upload the Employees


Login to Fusion. Click on Navigator -> Data Exchange under My Client Groups/My Workforce

Click on Tasks -> Initiate Data Load.

Business Object type ‘Worker’ and click on search. Then click on the generate template. This will download Worker.dat file to your local system.

Edit the Worker.dat file as shown in below screenshot and compress it to zip folder with the name zip folder as Worker.zip

Go to Navigator -> Data Exchange -> Tasks -> Import and Load Data.

Click on Import local file.

Select the zip folder from your system and click submit.

Click on Refresh until Import and Load percentage is 100% and the status is green.

After this go to setup and maintenance -> Manage Users and then search for the user which you have mentioned in the worker.dat file.

All the loaded users will be getting an email with URL to login the application with the below format:
