completing your online open enrollment elections using the district’s self-service portal.

From the School District website, select Staff from the menu bar.

Then select Employee Self Service from the dropdown menu bar.

Here are your current elections.

Select open enrollment to make elections for the new plan year

You will only see the options available to your personnel status (full-time, part-time, grandfathered or non-grandfathered). Because this is our first year using this self-serve portal, your current elections do not show up on this screen. You will need to make an election, even if you making the same election as last year.

The first elections will be your medical and pharmacy plan; either Plan A, Plan B, Plan C or Waived. You must decline the plans you are not electing. You may only waive if you are a part-time employee or a full-time employee with other coverage. Full-time employees are required to submit a waiver form to HR if not electing the School District Health Insurance.

Select Decline benefit or Make New Election for each section

If electing a choice requiring a dependent, select Add coverage or Add new dependent. Current dependents will show in the drop down box. You must choose or add each dependent you want coverage on.

The second set of elections you will want to make are your Dental Vision and Audio (DVA) election. This election may be made alone or with a health insurance plan. You must make an election (you may make an election to waive this coverage).

DVA - Make an election if you elected Plan A or Waived medical insurance.Decline this election if you elected Plan B or Plan C medical insurance.

DVA0 - Make this election if you elected Plan B or Plan C medical insurance. Decline this election if you elected Plan A or Waived medical insurance.

Optional Benefits –These elections do not automatically roll over each year. - The medical and dependent care FSA may be elected with any health insurance or if health insurance is waived. You will be required to enter a contribution amount. This election may be declined.- The HSA may only be elected with Plan B Health Insurance (may not elect a medical FSA in the same calendar year). You will be required to enter a contribution amount. This election may be declined.- The HRA may only be elected with Plan C Health Insurance. This election may be declined.

You must select Decline benefit or Make New Election for each available section.

For the FSAs and the HSA- Once you have selected “Make an Election”, you will need to enter a contribution amount

You will only see your pay period election displayed on the benefits screen.We do not have the annual election amount turned on to display as our deductions are taken out in 19 pay periods and the system can only display the deductions for 26 pay periods.

Once you have reviewed your elections and submit, you will see a confirmation message. Remember, you may make changes up to the open enrollment deadline of November 30, 2017.

Reminders:

- View the open enrollment presentation and health plan documentationat www.k12northstar.org/open-enrollment

- Deadline to submit your elections is 5:00 p.m. on November 15, 2018

- Election changes will be effective January 1, 2019

- Your Navia benefits (FSA, HSA, and HRA) contributions do not automatically renew, you must elect them for the new plan year.
