Review how staff can use EFM to help job seekers look for work
Job Orders in EFM
What is a Job Opening?◦A single job vacancy that an employer intends
to fill
Job Orders in EFM
What is a Job Order?◦Structured records of an employer’s
requirement for filling vacant positions with qualified workers
Job Orders in EFM
A Job Order must contain the following◦Qualifications a worker must have to perform
the duties◦Specific hiring requirements◦Information about the job or jobs◦Information on how to apply for the job
Job Orders in EFM
How are Job Orders entered in EFM?◦Some Job Orders are entered by the employer
in the EFM system An alert is sent to staff to review the Job Order
once an employer enters it in the system
◦Some Job Orders are entered by Regional Workforce Board (RWB) staff at the request of the employer
Job Orders in EFM
There are three types of Job Orders posted in EFM◦Unsuppressed
Visible to the public and often tell job seekers how to apply for the job
◦Suppressed Visible to the public but with limited information and
requires staff prescreen job seekers prior to referral◦Staff View Only
Not visible to the public and requires a staff referral
Job Orders in EFM
Why is this important?◦How the Job Order is coded impacts your job
seeker customer’s ability to apply for the job If the Job Order is “Unsuppressed”, the job seeker
customer simply follows the directions in the Job Order to apply for the job
If the Job Order is “Suppressed”, the job seeker customer must be referred to the employer by a RWB staff member
If the Job Order is “Staff View Only”, the job seeker will not see the Job Order at all
Job Searching in EFM
There are several ways for a job seeker to look for work using EFM◦In this example, the job seeker is looking for
work independently of staff assistance◦The job seeker is not registered or signed into
EFM The job seeker may not see all information
because he/she is not signed in to EFM
Job Searching in EFM
In this example◦A job seeker will sign into the EFM system◦Search for job openings in EFM
Job Searching in EFM
Staff assisted job search◦Staff can help job seekers find job openings
through the staff screens Staff log in Staff can help job seekers find job openings that
match a variety of options
Conclusion
