OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Your new solid state radio is designed to operate on 120V 50/60Hz AC cu rrent or on 4 "C" size batteries (not included) The electronic components have been chosen with care and this instrument has been designed to give you many years of trouble - free service. The AC line cord and battery holder are stored in the compartment under the back cover.

BATTERY INSTALLATION

Open the back cover and install the 4 batteries, making sure to observe the correct polarity. NOTE: OLD BATTERIES MAY SWELL AND LEAK. TO AVOID DAMAGE 'TO YOUR RADIO, REMOVE THE BATTERIES WHEN THE UNIT IS TO BE STORED FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME OR IF THE BATTERIES BECOME EXHAUSTED.

TO PLAY THE RADIO

This unit can be operated either on batteries or any conveniently located 120V household AC outlet. The unit will automatically switch to AC operation when plugged into the AC outlet. • To turn the radio ON, slide the switch marked POWER to the ON position. • Slide the BAND selector switch to either AM or FM. • For FM and WEATHER-BAND reception, extend the telescopic antenna. For AM there

is a built-in ferrite rod antenna inside the instrument. It may be necessary to position the radio for the best AM reception - this is normal.

• Turn the TUNING knob to select your station and adjust the sliding VOLUME control to the desired level of loudness. Adjust the sliding TONE control for the most pleasing tonal response.

• To listen to Weather Broadcasts, simply push the INSTANT WEATHER SWITCH ­adjust the FINE TUNING control to obtain the strongest signal.

• An earphone jack is provided on the side of the instrument so that you may enjoy private listening without disturbing others.

TO TURN THE RADIO OFF

• Slide the POWER switch to the OFF position. WARNING: TO PREVENT FIRE OR SHOCK HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS RADIO TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.

LIMITED 90 DAY WARRANTY II1. This product has been thoroughly tested, inspected, and adjusted and is warranted against all manufacturing defects within 90 days from date of original purchase.

2. This warranty does not cover A) Units that have been misused damaged by accidents. B) Units that have been repaired or altered by persons other thaI') EMERSON RADIO factory or authorized service stations. C) Damages caused by leaking batteries.

3. Batteries should be checked from time to time, and dead batteries should be removed, otherwise performance may suffer and the unit itself may be damaged. Before returning your unit for service, always test with fresh batteries. Be sure to remove batteries before returning the unit.

4. When returning the unit for repair include a copy of your sales slip to verifY the unit is qualified for In-Warranty service. A postage and handling charge of $3.00 must be enclosed when returning your unit for service.
