SNAPVX – SNAPSHOTS EVOLVED SnapVX is designed for performance and scale. This new technology can create 1000s of pointer-based, writable snapshots that use minimal additional capacity with virtually no performance impact. The snapshots are only allocated on write, providing space savings comparable to deduplication. SnapVX is also integrated with applications and databases making consistent copies easier to use.

Flash durability is intelligently managed – with a large global cache memory, VMAX All Flash minimizes write impacts that can be serviced out-of-flash. VMAX also has advanced flash “wear” analytics that will proactively ready a spare in the event a drive is nearing its useful life.

VMAX All Flash maintains extremely low latency, under 0.5 milliseconds, for transactional workloads with a mix of small and large blocks, and a mix of reads and writes. FlashBoost, which does a parallel bypass of cache for reads directly from flash while also pulling the data into cache, further lowers the latency.
