Bio for Janarbek Matai:

Dr. Janarbek Matai is a Sr. Engineer at the Research and Development Group of Cognex Corporation, San Diego. Dr. Janarbek Matai's research interest includes embedded image processing, computer vision, high-level synthesis and reconfigurable computing. Besides working as an engineer at Cognex Corporation, Dr. Janarbek Matai teaches the wireless embedded systems course for Master of Advanced Studies in the Wireless Embedded Systems program at UCSD.

Dr. Janarbek Matai has extensive expertise in designing FPGA systems for image processing, computer vision and data processing applications. Dr. Janarbek Matai received his PhD in computer science from University of California-San Diego in 2015, M.S degree from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (formerly ICU) in 2007, and B.S degree from Mongolian University of Science and Technology in 2004.

Bio for Ali Irturk:

Dr. Ali Irturk is the Engineering Manager for the Research and Development Group at Cognex Corporation, San Diego. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at UCSD. He is interested in designing and developing the next generation vision systems, vision software and vision sensors used in manufacturing automation.

Dr. Ali Irturk received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of California, San Diego, masters degrees (M.S., M.A.) in both Electrical & Computer Engineering and Economics, all from University of California, Santa Barbara, bachelor degrees (B.S., B.A.) in both Electrical & Computer Engineering and Naval Profession, all from Turkish Naval Academy in Istanbul, Turkey.
