Summary
My professional goal is to enable and accelerate green chemistry solutions, replacing most of the experimental burden with computer simulations. This is why I co-founded Zymvol, a startup that accelerates the development of industrial biocatalysts using bioinformatics and computational chemistry. As Chief Scientific Officer I manage Zymvol’s R&D and enzyme engineering services. As a co-founder, I am involved in business-related decision making and strategy planning.
Experience
Co-Founder & CSO ‒ Zymvol • 2017- ِ R&D management ِ Enzyme engineering services ِ Software development
Predoctoral Fellow ‒ Barcelona Supercomputing Center • 2012-2016 ِ Developed a novel multiscale computational methodology to
redesign enzymes of industrial interest. ِ Designed five improved enzymes and a hybrid inorganic-enzyme
material for enhanced catalysis. ِ Published ten papers, one book chapter and one pre-print.
Visitor ‒ University of Copenhagen • 2014-2014 ِ Application of novel quantum chemical approaches to
enzyme engineering.
Internship ‒ University of Milan • 2010-2011 ِ Developed a new quantum mechanical index of local aromaticity
based on the electron density. ِ Published one article, one book chapter and one conference paper.
Internship- University of Milan • 2009-2009 ِ Simulated the interplay between organic molecules and small
proteins during unfolding.
